Pizza Port Menu

Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Blood Pressure at Pizza Hut

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. Most pizzas at Pizza Hut are high in sodium and hence you must stick to one or max. two slices of any regular size pizza to limit your sodium intake. Try out the salads as they are not only healthy but also keeps you full for a longer period. However, you must ensure that you don't order the salads without any extra dressing.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust and Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice at all costs when you order at Pizza Hut. Both these pizzas contain a high amount of sodium which can spike your blood pressure levels. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for High Cholesterol

Keep your pizza intake to one slice to avoid high cholesterol intake while you dine at Pizza Hut. Skip Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice as it contains a high amount of fat and the sodium levels are also very high. Avoid the desserts section completely to limit the fat and sugar intake. You can also limit yourself from ordering non-veg pizza and skip adding sides or dressing on your orders to ensure that your cholesterol is in check while dining at Pizza Hut.

If you have 1-3 others with you, post up in the 2nd floor balcony area. View of the beach, fresh air and definitely easier to hear each other versus indoors. Oh yeah, flatscreen right there in case you need to see the game. Trust, it's money. Been meaning to hit this spot up and was not disappointed. The OB and Carlsbad pizzas were tasty and of course the beers. I had so much fun just with the names (i'm a sucker for puns). We really enjoyed the Silky Smoove stout (a nitro beer with that nice hint of coffee) and I was a fan of Get to the Hopper (IPA). Even decided on a growler of the Smoove for the nightcap. Just a great, fun space, friendly service and regulars who were more than happy to provide suggestions. New life mission: make it to every location.

Very fun place to grab some pizza. Communal table seating. Talk to your neighbors! The ocean beach pizza was unlike anything I've ever had and I was left wishing I had a second stomach so I could go back for more. Wow. That is a delicious pizza. We also tried the Carlsbad which was very good too. The melted feta (only, no mozzarella) was a really good combo with everything else on it. Fun.

Granted we dined on a holiday weekend, but the place was crazy! There were no servers, so there was a carnival barker calling out orders, then leaving the pizza for whoever to take it (ours was almost stolen). They also took close to an hour to arrive. By the way the pizzas ALL came out wrong! The salad was just a big bowl of lettuce topped with various packaged dressings, YUM! To top the night off, the pizza ended up tasting on par with Domino's and we all had horrible indigestion the remainder of the evening. Finally, the staff was extremely rude when we let them know how our experience was. I believe one guy said, 'maybe you should leave and not come back.'

The pizza here is amazing!! We ordered a large Margherita pizza and it was incredible. The service was great and had we chosen to eat there, I'm sure we would've been treated like family. The ambiance was great, it was loud, tv's everywhere playing sports and beer aplenty. Will definitely go back when we're in beautiful San Clemente.

Pizza is really good extremely good! Service though was seriously absolutely terrible I ordered wings and pizza and tipped them 10$ on a 25$ bill. They forgot my wings not once but 2 times me and my girlfriend waited 45 minutes to get our FUL order and leave to eat our pizza. By the time we got our wings our pizza was cold. Thanks for nothing pizza port. Glad I tipped you for doing nothing.

This was our first time to Pizza Port after living in SC for 5 years. Has a very locals vibe. Lots of craft brews. Different assorted pizza and salad choices. Line was very long on early Friday evening. Listen, people. Have your order ready when you reach the counter! Community style seating around the place. Fun game room upstairs for kids. Pizza was good. Crust a little thicker than expected. Didn't really like the Portzel, a sundried tomato and goat cheese "pretzel". Also got the beer buddies...ordered the wrong dough. They were okay.

Great pizza & great beer! The one bad thing was that when we arrived, about 7:30 on a Friday night, there was no where to sit and we had a group of 6. So we had to wait and hover for probably about a half hour before we got a table. Although, that wasnt so bad because we had time to check out the menu and check out the beer selections. Great choices of beers. Just the right amount of options. Theres also some wine options for the non-beer drinkers and at $5/glass, its probably more cost effective than some of the beers. I had the Allagash Black, knowing I like their White. It was decent, a little too bitter for me but otherwise a nice dark beer. As for the food, we tried a few things. I believe its call the portzel. Its like a pretzel made with their special beer bread. It was super yummy. Comes with a marinara like dipping sauce and/or spicy mustard. Also had the wings. I thought they were very good. They are baked with their sauce so its more of a dry wing as opposed to one dripping with sauce. Still good flavor with a slight spice to it. Theres quite a few different options for pizza, including one with clams and shrimp on it (not sure Id try that one just yet). We had the Laguna, vegetarian pizza with artichoke hearts, onions, olives, and bell peppers. Might be a few other toppings Im missing, but it was very tasty! I wonder if you could add chicken, because that would be delicious! The boys we were with got the extreme meat pizza and LOVED it. Theres also a bar upstairs as well as downstairs, seating areas both places, and some games for the kiddos upstairs. Great experience! And in such a cute area to walk around afterwards as well!

I've been to all of the Pizza Port locations and although this one is not my favorite, it's the closest to my house and one of the best places (if not the best) to get a beer and pizza in Orange County. I come primarily for their craft beer that you can only find on location, but their California style pizzas are very good. I especially like the Carlsbad pizza as I have an affinity for pesto pizzas and this one is top notch with sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and feta cheese. I always order whatever IPA they are currently pouring and have never been disappointed (last time it was El Camino, but I also love the bottles you can find at your local liquor store: Mongo, Wipeout, High Tide, Santa's Little Helper and I miss Hop 15). I recommend trying to sit downstairs, at the bar or outside if you are not bringing kids, as upstairs can feel a bit like Disneyland with all the families. Parking can also be challenging if you can not find a spot in their small lot upstairs. I will certainly be back to fill my growler.

The lunch special. Don't order it. It's only $5 for a reason. Their greasy pizza and a sub-par salad makes me want to pizza hut instead. Please check your lettuce. The lettuce I received had these tiny little translucent bumps, probably from some sort of agricultural damage. Ew. Also, the women's bathroom smelled like a campground outhouse. That being said, I would give this place another shot. My one visit doesn't seem fair and their specialty pizzas do look good. The selection of beer is intriguing as well. They also have an events calendar that's chock full of fun things, so don't take this review to heart, just avoid the lunch special.

The last of the Pizza Ports I had to visit, but certainly not the least! Housed in a beautiful Spanish building with the standard PP vibe. Generally a very pleasant vibe and the beer did NOT disappoint. Tried several and was quite pleased (although this should be unsurprising, as they were displaying award signs next to several of their beers). The Faceplant was a fantastic American Tripel, but we were there for the stouts. Enjoyed both the SIlky Smoove and the Dusk Til Dawn (SO good). Didn't have the pizzas at this particular Port, but would highly recommend the Carlsbad and San Clemente Pies. Very easy to find vegetarian or customize to vegetarian. Unique tastes. Would recommend thin crust or the large pizzas, as the medium pies can get a big doughy. Close to the freeway, too, which is great for stopping by whilst traveling on the 5 in either direction.

Great gluten free pizza selections, even with their small kitchen they are very careful about cross contamination and as a person with celiac's I appreciate that! I would go here again.

This place is awesome. We came for the beer and pizza and ended up staying for their rooftop BBQ 4th of July party. Pizza - medium pepperoni black olives. Plenty of food for 2 people (bf & I). We ended up with one slice to take home. Beer - lots to choose from. Everything I had was tasty. House-made Root Beer - so tasty. It's more sarsaparilla-y than most, but I definitely liked it. The rooftop party was a blast. $12 all you can eat + 2 beers. It was super cheap for all you can eat bbq food and additional beers were $3. The party had a great community feeling. Totally dug it.

Would give 4.5 stars if I could. Had the veggie ocean beach pizza, very tasty. Staff friendly and the girl that took our order made the pizza throwing the dough in the air and served....talk about multitasking. Not always a fan of military crowd (the loud ones). Good place for kids and adults to intermingle.

This is my favorite location. You can sit outside and see the water. The pizza is always so good and fun toppings. Really love the garlic beer buddies! You've got to try this pizza spot.

Dude! Great pizza. Pliny the Elder on tap! Dude!! Overall, a great semi-divey pizza joint in a beach town. Outdoor seating and napkins a plenty. We just chose a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza.. they were both very good. Not too much sauce, the crust was not that awful doughy/chewy.. big fan. We didn't wait long at all on a busy weekend evening to get our two pizzas, maybe 20 minutes tops. Highly recommend. Will give a fifth star if I make it back here and the pizza is just as stellar.

There is nothing not to love about Pizza Port. - Awesome Staff - Great Beer ( and beer floats) - Wings, Mozzarella Sticks - Pizza - Fun location Seriously, what is there not to love. And the list of guest beers is always fun.

Different style pizza! We love the environment, beer, and food! It's always busy but the food comes out fast... Last time we tried the BBQ chicken pizza and it was amazing!

We had some friends in from out of town with two young children. Perfect place. Large enough to roam but small enough to keep track of em. Plus arcade games. The pizza and beer are my fiancées favorite. I enjoy seeing her happy. Everyone left full and satisfied. Except for the kids who wanted to keep playing games!

Pizza Port does not deliver. Order in or take out only... This place is your typical family style meets softball, basketball, or any other sport recreational men's league. Pizza is good and there are plenty of beers on tap and this experience has the potential to carry you back into the gym, water, cycling, or whatever your thing is -in order to work off the weight. Is this place really, really, really good? Yes. Is this place great? Borderline yes, leaning toward no. Hey but at least they have locations in Ocean Beach, Solana Beach, Carlsbad, and here (San Clemente). Crowd is off hook and it's loud and pretty noisy. Do not spend your quiet romantic evening here. Instead, try South of Nick's (across the street). So what to order? I went with the Garlic Veggie Pizza: Spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, garlic, feta & mozzarella. Be warned that they will serve you their traditional crust unless you ask for their signature wholegrain beer crust. That crust is VERY good, like 5 star type good. I simply would critique that the pizza should be served thinner as to bring out the balance of the ingredients in the veggie pizza. You will get a lot of pizza, packed with ingredients, but MOST of the time, less is truly more and you can enjoy the flavor of each separate ingredient, served amongst a whole pizza pie. -With veggies and chesse jammed in there, it makes the -what otherwise could be considered as 'award winning crust' come out a bit soggy towards the middle and this has the tendency to unbalance the pizza. Promise you... You might not truly notice this after a long surfing session or any other activity that leave you feeling famished and hungry! All in all: Great place. Fun location. A 'must do' if you're in the mood for pizza and brewskis.

We have wanted to try this place for a really long time and thanks to the traffic on the 5 Saturday afternoon we finaly decided to stop. The setting is really beachy and kick back. It's got a great craft beer line up which is one of the main reasons we wanted to go. The pizza was amazing!!! one of the best I've ever had and I've had a lot of pizza. We will definitely be back and hopefully it won't take another traffic jam to get us there.

If I could eat Piza Port once a week without feeling guilty I would. Its my go-to pizza place in SC. I'd rather wait and pick up Pizza Port than have some crap delivered for almost the same price. The beers are out of this world and the bartenders are very kind, letting you figure out what you want with large free trials of beer. I havent had a bad pizza or salad or appetizer here ever.

  • Erin A.

Our favorite place to run out for a pizza and beer. We love sitting outside and just watching the sunset. Wednesdays are $0.50 wings and mozzarella sticks, which is usually pretty good, but last time we went the wings were a bit subpar.... but the pizza and beer is so good it totally made up for it. We're definitely becoming regulars.

  • David S.

I love Pizza Port. They have some excellent beer selections, and rare beers on tap that I have had there include Pliny the Elder, Habanero Sculpin, and their own excellent brews including Pseudo IPA, Middleman IPA and too many others to mention. Their pizza is excellent (and you can get gluten free crust), the salads good as well. The staff is generally friendly and attentive, even if it is busy. Why did I not give it 5 stars then? Well, I am baffled, that after coming there for years, they still don't have "water" behind the bar. Just try to ask for it. They will tell you they don't, give you a cup, and tell you to go get some out fo the drink machine. Why? Every time this happens I feel like they are pulling a prank on me, and look around for the candid camera guys. Also, there is not enough seating at either bar, and this means sometimes standing around waiting for a chair. As such, I am motivated to not go there during busy hours because it is a zoo, with parking and seating problems galore.

The best thing about this place is obviously their beers. And I really hope that I don't have to point out that "beers" doesn't mean like the 1000+ offered at Yard House. Not only do they make their OWN beers (with the actual brew equipment sitting right in front of you), they always offer a huge-ish board of "guest taps", which could sometimes include stuff like Russian River's Pliny the Younger (last weekend). I hope that I don't have to explain that one either. I've been here about 10+ times so far, and about 5+ times to the location down south in Carlsbad (which also has a bottle shop where you can actually drink out back ias much as your little drunken heart desires...). This location in San Clemente is good too -- it's like 3 floors high and sort of reminds me of places my parents would take me as a kid -- long wooden benches, huge trays of "American-style" pizza and breadsticks, pockets of video game outlets, etc. -- except that food (and especially the beer) are hell of a lot better. There are 4 locations to cater to your geographical needs. Overall, the beers are definitely reason to drive out of your way -- making a pit stop in the vortex of South County on your way to SD is actually pretty freaking worth it. In fact, driving specifically down to South County is also pretty freaking worth it -- but only because of Pizza Port and nothing else. My favorite Pizza Port beers are the IPAs. You must like IPAs to reap all the happiness out of this place. Oh, and the people who own Pizza Port are the same ones who own Port Brewing/Lost Abbey. Hope I don't have to explain that one either... Note1: the worst part of this place is sometimes the multitudes of children who will be crawling all over the place. Note2: OWN beers are like "award winning", like GABF and all that. In fact, Portola Coffee and Pizza Port did a coffee porter collaboration called "COFFEE MONSTER" that is delicious and has won a silver 2 years in a row.

  • Marc E.

The beer at Pizza Port is Sublime! They have an excellent selection of brews especially IPA's. If you do happen to drop by this place order the beer buddies. They are bite sized pieces of dough that are well seasoned and served with a dipping sauce. They are a meal in itself. The pizza is mediocre. Not the best I've ever had. The beer and the beer buddies make up for the pizza.

I always wanted to try this place so I came here a couple nights ago. Looked over their menu, saw pizza, saw buffalo wings and wanted to see if they were willing to make a buffalo chicken pizza. They did! I told them exactly what I wanted and they fulfilled my needs. The only thing was that it wasn't THAT great. So i'll give them 4 stars for giving me what I wanted. Also love all of the beer choices.

I am a fan of all Pizza Ports. My favorite being Carlsbad. This one is a very nice location, and I would normally give them another star, but the last few times we have been here, the pizza has had a soggy crust not long after being served. I am not sure what has changed, but any veggies on the pizza are so watery that it is making the crust soggy. Hopefully, that can fix that. The beer there is always five star! There is a nice small upstairs patio as well.

One of my favorite stops along CA I-5, between LA and SD! Excellent pizzas, my favorite is the Pizza Monterey - think pepperoni & mushroom pizza but with a secret ingredient: artichoke hearts! Brings out the incredible flavor of this well-built, deep dish pizza - yum! My first experience was at Pizza Port Carlsbad, and I must say the great craft beers they make are an integral part of the dining experience. Try the Chronic (Amber Ale) or the Shark Attack (Red Ale). What I like about the San Clemente location over Carlsbad is the multilevel restaurant layout: try eating or drinking on the second floor, at the bar or on the small patio, and enjoy the California coast view on a sunny day.

My wife and I have been to San Clemente, Carlsbad and Solana Beach Pizza Ports and they are all consistent with great service, craft brews and price. Well done Pizza Port!! when I'm near they will always be my first choice.

Carlsbad Chronic and Monterrey pizza. Wow, this pizza place delivers. The best SoCal chain there is. They always have a fun and friendly atmosphere. The pizza is great and their beer selection rotates. If you've never tried there beer don't be hesitant. It's great place for everyone.

WWWWWWWWWWWWWow! Good pizza! Especially the Ocean Beach with homemade bacon, asparagus, mushrooms, red bell peppers, olives, and whatever else deliciousness that I devoured before even checking! The other pizzas were good too but the Ocean Beach was thee crowd pleaser. Get it with the beer crust, whatever that means. and of course they're beer selection is tremendous. The staff wasn't unfriendly, but they could've been warmer. There's a mini arcade for the kids. win win. cool restaurant.

  • Valerie K.

We had the garlic veggie and the Pizza Roma along with the veggie with hummus. The pizzas were very good, very filling (thick crust), but I wouldn't spend the money to get the veggies and the hummus again. The family we were with got the caesar salad and said that it was very tasty. Vibrant atmosphere filled with lots of people and families. Worth a visit. They have a little arcade upstairs so that keeps the kids happy while you wait for your food.

Came here for my buddy's birthday and enjoyed the hell out of my time here. The food quality was very high and the pizzas all came out tasting wonderful, fully cooked, and perfect to the tongue. We ordered a few different kinds and I couldn't think of a single reason to hate on them. 20+ beers on served here, mostly micro brews from the local brewers and Pizza Port's own brewery. The beer was good, not great, but not bad at all. The PP beers did have a little bit of an off taste (I assume that was the Pizza they put in during brewing) and I didn't care for it all that much. Cheap tasters is a huge plus in my book. Yeah, if I was in the area I would choose this spot for good beers (selection and taste) and great pizza.

In my induction to Southern California beers two years ago I went to one of the first Beer Festivals in Los Angeles. I was fascinated by the mural on one van that featured a wave crashing on a beach carrying a surfer on shore to a pint of beer. Since that first vision I've had bottled and draft Pizza Port brews, but never been to one of their brewing locations until my trip to San Clemente this weekend. I enjoyed the "Pseudo" IPA whereas Erin had a flight of dark porter, stout, and imperial stout. She also tried the T-Street Wheat which was her favorite. They typically have at least one cask ale on tap. Though it was deplenished by the time we arrived. They also serve a pizza which is okay. My advice is order your pizza at La Rocco's Pizzeria and your beer from Pizza Port.

This place is great I used to go to lunch here with my old co-workers at my old job just to stop and grab a slice to eat Their pizza is awesome! Also it's a great hangout spot

HEAVEN......HEAVEN O' HEAVEN CAN YOU HELP ME... :) This place is THE place to go to RUIN all your pizza experiences. I go here all the time when I'm on my way to or back from SD. I love this place soo much because of the pizza and the beer on tap. This place is just good all around. I tried all their different types of pizza and beer and I never ever went wrong. I will always miss you Pizza Port and I will be back! So don't you worry. You are always in my heart. Luv-Jan

Mmmm, pizza and beer is easily one of my favorite pairings in life. And when it's great gourmet pizza and great craft beer? Well there's probably not many things in the world that will make me happier. My go to pizza would be the pizza carlsbad: pesto, chicken, tomatoes, artichoke and feta cheese. Mmmm. All the flavors compliment each other so well. Beer buddies and chicken wings are good for your munchies as well. As for their beers, the Carlsbad Chronic, Happy Trail, El Camino IPA are some classic Pizza Port brews. Their menu is nice and expansive, displaying various choices for whatever it is that you want. The ambiance of this location does a good job of capturing the essence of San Clemente. You really get a sense of the laidback sleepy California surfer town as soon as you step in. But this place does get crowded and parking is a pain when it's busy, so try to avoid the rush hours when you can. Besides that though, I can't really think of anything else to complain about here!

Love this place! I recommend Wednesday for their .25 cent enourmous wings! So good and soooo cheap!!!! Pizza is good too, and they have a good selection of microbews!

Beer and pizza can't really go wrong with that. They have a great/wonderful/amazing beer selection. Not a huge fan of their pizza but I am in the minority there, just too heavy for me. Love the beer and garlic buddies!

Really good pizza!!! If you like seafood like myself, try the Pizza Solano! The shrimp and artichokes pair really well with the smoky olives and cheese! I like that anything is customizable! I had them leave out the onion and capers and it was still full of flavor and delicious! Portions are huge, I ordered a small and still had half a pie leftover so you can easily split with a friend and be satisfied! Awesome wing deal on Wednesdays and they have a pretty decent selection of craft beers to try if that's your thing! Im not a beer drinker, but the rest of the folks in my party were raving and enjoying them! Service was prompt, even with the hustle and bustle of a busy night! I would definitely come back to try other creations when I'm in the area again!

Bomb beer and pizza. God's gift to mankind. The perfect combination can be found at this hard to find joint crawling with surfers. If you enjoy fresh ingredients and a crispy yet fluffy crust, then you will enjoy their pizzas. The best is they have do 50/50. I came here with a friend and we were torn between all the options. The dude at the counter shared his favorite and the house special with us. He recommended getting a small and getting 50/50 of both. Best decision ever. He was right as well. The pizzas are small but deceptively filling since it is loaded with toppings. After spending the best 9 years of my life in the Pacific Northwest, I have become quite the beer snob. I approve of their beer. My only regret - not getting their beers to go which was an option. I also recommend their salads. Again, looks small but quite filling. All in all, a great find. We thank all Yelpers who raved about this place. I, too, am writing a stellar review to support small craft breweries and local businesses. I will definitely be stopping here again the next time I visit the Rainbow store.

We went here for pizza last year and had a horrible experience on a busy night where our food was "lost" TWICE. I reserve the five-star review for this reason, but having said that, we gave Pizza Port another try and this time, very much enjoyed our meal. We came in for lunch and ordered the Carlsbad Pizza personal size (4 slices) and subbed spinach instead of chicken (vegetarian option). The pizza came out in about 20 minutes and was piping hot when it hit our plates. The crust is super soft and fresh and has a sweet hint that is not unpleasant at all. The toppings are fresh and piled high; no skimping here! This is definitely not a traditional Italian pizzeria, but if you're looking for delicious, fresh pizza that isn't a gut bomb, Pizza Port is the place for you. The food here is a great value as well. Our lunch pizza cost under $10 and it easily fed us both. We'll be back!

We were disappointed with this place given the reviews. We stopped here for dinner and found the pizza flavorless. The sauce was too sweet and the seemed to be no garlic flavor at all. This place will be memorable for the wrong reasons.

So happy my boyfriend brought me here - I love pizza and Pizza Port makes a really good pie!! Ordered one of the vegetarian friendly pizzas - onions, olives, artichokes, and more. SO yummy! Ingredients were fresh, the sauce was the perfect amount, and the crust was thick and sturdy (perfect to hold all the delicious toppings). Ordered a nice pint of blonde beer to wash down the delicious pizza. Great food, friendly service, and a very fun atmosphere/vibe to it.

This place has the best pizza we have had in the Southern California area. Tasty crust and such fun and interesting toppings. It made eating pizza both filling and nutritionally balanced as well. Nice beer selection as well. They have such space there too, it was the perfect meeting place before heading out to a party!

The pizza is great. The beer is great. Employee's actually reading the order slip before they make the pizza? Not so great. Ordered two pizza's. One without onions. The other without bell peppers. Order was confirmed on the screen and receipt. Pizzas came with everything on them including the items that were requested not to be on them. If not for the fact that our group was starving, they would have been sent back. Instead we just made the most of it, picked off as much of the onions and bell peppers that we could and ate. What we did eat, everybody enjoyed. It's one of the better pizzas I've had. The beer selection was quite nice as well. Had they gotten the order right, I'd be giving them 4 stars. Will probably go back, but my advice would be to presume that the pizzas come as listed on the menu as the staff will most likely disregard any special instructions anyway.

Excellent pizza and a great variety of combos to choose from, including gluten free, wheat crust, and dessert pizzas -- it's awesome. The crust isn't too thick, it's perfect. The ingredients are quality, not skimpy here.

If you love beer and food or grub and grog as pizza port calls it, you gotta try this place. Imagine BJ's minus the corporate franchise tag and with way better brews. Each PP location has their own different beers brewed on location. If your like my friends and I and find yourself having a few too many pitchers, I recommend the beer buddies.

This place may have fantastic food but they have horrific service. We waited over an hour for a pizza and eventually just have up and left. We continually checked with the staff and couldn't get a straight answer on what was happening with our order. Ill never visit this restaurant again. Invest in better logistics and management.

Great place for Pizza. This pizza port has a few stories--- you can park on the roof or the street. Quality food and nice employees. There are alot of different beers to try- they give tasters if you are scared to order a whole one. I love the Ocean Beach pizza. There are TVs to watch the game and they allow leashed dogs on their outside patio. Just go here and be pleased

Came here for the Star Wars "It's A Tap!" event and I have to say, that for a Star Wars themed event, it was pretty weak. I know....NERDS! The restaurant was way too packed, too hot / humid, and not much else going on. But, as far as food, beer, and service, I'm hooked. Got the: - Pizza Carlsbad: Pesto, chicken, sundried tomatos, feta, etc... (Solid pizza.) - Mac and Cheese Bites (They don't give you nearly enough. You need a whole order to yourself.) - Pizza San Clemente: Black bean sauce, something, something, and etc... (One of the most interesting pizzas that I've ever tried. Pretty awesome.) - Beer: "I've Got A Bad Feeling About This," American Imperial Stout with habaneros on cask. (Whole pint might be too much if you want to try other beers. Strong alcohol undertones.) Bottom line: Will probably come back when it's not as busy. Would like to sit outside so that you get some ocean breeze.

I came by here last Sunday with an intense craving for a good craft brew and some delicious carbs. This place definitely did not disappoint! I sat at the small bar and was delighted that there was plenty of space there. This place is set up with huge picnic tables downstairs and upstairs. While I am quite comfortable being the solo diner, that is a little much, even for me. You can order either food/beer at the bar or food at the menu. Pick-up for beer is on the spot at the bar and pick-up for food is at the menu. Pizza seemed a little too much for my frame when all I really wanted was good beers, so I settled with the beer buddies that came with ranch and marinara sauce. Nick, the bartender, gave me three tasters when I mentioned that I was getting back into crafts and wanted something "less than hoppy". I settled on a pint of the Sharkbite Red Ale which was delicious! Successful brew by Pizza Port. I ended up having two pints of the Sharkbite and to round up my dinner, I got another pint of their Creamsicle Wheat. The flavors were not really there and they had very weak notes, but it was easy to drink. Or maybe MY notes are weak after the Sharkbite. Whichever, whatever. The entire meal before tip was less than $20. Yeeeeee, I will be back! *They do state that with a higher ABV%, the prices of some brews will vary.

Just came here this past weekend before we hit the Carlsbad outlets. My friend and her husband love this place so we checked it out with them. Great pizzas and beers (I don't drink beer but the coffee and chocolate mint ones were good). There was a light beer I forget the name which was a hit amongst our party.

Love this place. The girl bartender, (sorry I cant remember her name!) is ALWAYS really super friendly, and helpful when you have no idea what kind of beer you like, and never makes you feel stupid for being that girl who only has fruity drinks. Plus the pizza is always amazing and worth every penny. The BBQ chicken one is my personal favorite. People also are never stupid drunk there either, which makes it especially nice if you want to bring kids in... great atmosphere, great people, great food, and great beer! (or cider depending on your taste!) Super glad its in San Clemente, and we are able to enjoy it!

BIG fan of pizza port. The service is always on point, and the Pizza Carlsbad is seriously amazing (and kind of healthy!) with pesto, feta, grilled chicken, artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes.. yum!! It's a fun place to watch a game and the crowd is usually pretty cool and friendly.

Pizza and Beer who could ask for more... Thicker crust pizza but lots of topping options. A small pizza and an order of pizza crust bites was waaay more than my BF and I could handle. Yummy stuff and lots of beer options. We ordered half and half on the pizza, I got my veggie half and he got his meat half. Good thing I don't mind crossing the lines and eating some meat, he on the other hand prefers to stick w/ the meat. I get the best of both. Yummy stuff!

My favorite place in San Clemente or South OC for good craft beer and epic pizza. The pizza is rich and two slices will most likely fill you up. In terms of beer they have a full spectrum of craft beers half of which they produce in house. They bring in many different breweries as well which rounds out the experience. I must in the local area.

so happy I've found a place that serves amazing craft beer and food to match! I've been coming here for the past year or so and can say this is by far the best brew pub in so cal. if you love good beer and good food this place is for you!! i would highly recommend either the psuedo IPA or the sharkbite red if your having any trouble trying to find a brew thats right for you, also you cant go wrong with the pizza carlsbad!! mmmm mmmm good!! also, congrats to the san clemente pizza port brewing gods for the gold medal for their pseudo IPA and the San Clemente store for best small brew pub!! keep up the great brewing!!

I love the Beer Buddies, pizza dough, and that's about it. I've had the Margherita pizza and wasn't very impressed. There was very little cheese on it and it's served with red sauce (yuck) unless you specifically ask for olive oil, which is weird too me.

The only other Pizza Port I know of is the one in Disneyland's Tomorrowland, so when GL suggested this, I instantly associated it with good memories (large portions at a decent price, and the happiest place on earth), so readily agreed. That, and I was sick of sitting in traffic, and stopping for lunch to sit it out was the perfect idea. We parked on the back side (they also have a decent size lot in the back) on the street for free and avoided the parking meter and traffic hassle of El Camino Real. When you enter from the back entrance, you're really coming in from the third floor so you have to take a couple of flights down. Seating's quieter upstairs. We ordered our pizza at the counter. They have some listed there or you can customize. To customize, a medium starts at $10.75 or so and then it's like $1.75 for each topping (aside from cheese and marinara sauce). We got meatballs and mushrooms and a salad. The salad was a typical salad ($6), but big enough to share for two people. Just some greens not cut up very well, a few slices of green bell peppers, some mushrooms and a tomato or two. They give you two packets of whatever dressing you choose. Seating is wooden picnic tables all pushed together, so you might find yourself next to some nice people, or some really loud people. Since it is a brewery, chances are more of the latter. Luckily, we had a one table buffer between us and the group at the same set of tables. The pizza came out about 10-15 minutes later. We got the whole wheat crust with it. Honestly, after a few bites, I was definitely not into it, but did have a smaller second slice just because I had to be sure. GL said that he had been there before, but both times he had been starving, and probably somewhat on a buzz by the end, so you can't really review a place that way. Or can you? I can't. Anyway, I just didn't think the pizza was that good, plain and simple. It was a medium thick crust (def not NY style). I think it was something in the sauce or there was just too much cheese. And of course, the amount of cheese is just a personal preference, but I really like just a little bit of everything, and not one topping to overwhelm the others. But something with the sauce, I couldn't quite place it but it was just not yummy to me. Customer service was good, the guys at the counter were nice. The atmosphere was what you'd find at any brewery, a bit loud, but people were having a good time in general. A plus was that the women's bathroom was kept very clean (although GL said it couldn't be said for the guy's, but we all know you guys just can't aim). And they did offer "gourmet" ingredients like artichoke, broccoli, feta, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, etc. They have a few tables outside, and it's the kind of place where you see families come in after the morning little league game or AYSO meet. Happy to have had it as a lunch stop from the drive back from San Diego, but definitely would try someplace else if I'm ever in the area. It's probably a 2+/3- range.

This is now my Cheers. The one in Carlsbad is much bigger and has more beer options, but this is still one of my favorite hang outs now since this location is closer to me. The only knock really is that there are a few beers that I love, but not every beer is available every day. So sometimes I show up really wanting the porter or chocolate stout, but they don't have it the day I'm there. Ugh. But really, most of the beers are top notch and I can find a suitable replacement.

If you are a Pizza Lover, This is a Great Place to go!! Its a Small Casual Place. Would definitely recommend to anyone!! DECOR: Very casual and looks like a college hang out. There are TVs around for thos eof you who would want to watch sports while you are there. There is a small area on the second floor with video games for kids. There is a bar on the first and second floor. SERVICE: There is no waiter service so when you order, you have to go pick your food up at the counter when they call your name. It can get a bit noisy at times, but not too bad. And the parking can be hard at times to find as its limited around the restaurant. FOOD: Now the food is AMAZING! There are so many different types of Pizza and Create Your Own" and they are Delicious!! There is a Vegetarian pizza with spinach which is soo tasty! The Root Beer is made there is and soooo good! And I believe its made there.

Home brewed beers that are served off the tap. Servers know their stuff, too! We had them make our pizza half Pizza Ocean Beach--loaded with asparagus, roasted peppers, portabella mushrooms, butternut squash, and caramelized gorgonzola-- and half Pizza San Francisco. They were slices of heaven! Paired with a petite glass of their Lost Cholo beer, my taste buds were swimming in flavor and joy. We took a growler of their Pig Dog Pale home. It didn't last a week. This place is totally San Clemente: ocean views, ocean breeze, great ambiance for a pizza joint, beachy and laid back, packed full of people but they're totally staffed to handle it. It's reminiscent of a grown-ups Chuck-E-Cheese sans the tokens. We plan to come back for a refill on the growler and some delicious pizza.

One of my girlfriends and I made a pit stop here on the way to L.A. Just being in this sleepy, surfer town was a treat; the vibe is so relaxing and mellow. We had the Pizza Carlsbad - pesto, chicken, sundried tomatos, feta. Dude...amazing!!! The flavor combination is spot on. All ingredients complimented one another nicely without being overpowering. There is also a very nice selection of microbrews available at the bar (seperate from the food area, but you can bring your beer with you to the dining area). The patio area is small, but it is nice for watching all the surfers pass by. Make a pit stop here if you are passing through San Clemente!

Pizza Port pizza and salads never disappoint. We love love love the OB Pizza on wheat crust and the Port salad. Such interesting and well-matched ingredients! We've tried but been unsuccessful in duplicating the toppings of the pizza on homemade pizza. There's just something about the bacon and their sauce! So tasty. And, the single serving salads are really big -- enough for a few people if you are also getting pizza. We haven't tried many appetizers, but haven't ever been compelled to remember any that we did try (or order them again), so I'd say they were at best not memorable, and at worst kind of bland. Last time we were in, we noticed a new salad on the menu - kale with champagne vinaigrette and pomegranate seeds and something else. We were taking out that night, so didn't get a salad, but can't wait to go back to try that one, too. Last, but definitely not least, you gotta love the selection of beer in this pizza joint (everything from lager to stout to IPA and everything in between), along with the beer-tenders' willingness to impart knowledge and opinions about the beers without being a beer snob, ask questions about your taste preferences, and to offer samples so you can taste before you commit to one. The only problem with the beer is that you get option paralysis. They always have at least a couple of different options on tap of each style of beer, more for the more popular varieties. Can I get a ride home, please???? The only negatives: 1. It's kinda dirty (carpets and tables) because it's always busy, which also means it's hard to get a table sometimes (just wait and something will open up), and it's always noisy, but this is great if you have little ones because no one cares if they are noisy/messy. Great place to go with the kiddos for this reason. 2. Some of the video games are violent and inappropriate for little kids, but the kids are so attracted to that zone that you can hardly get them out of the game area to eat dinner. So in this sense, it's not such a great place to go with the kiddos, at least if you don't want to expose them to violent video games and/or want them to be willing to sit down to eat. Then again, keeping them occupied with video games lets the adults relax with their beers a little more. I'm torn, but we keep going back, so I guess the great food and beer outweighs my thoughts about the video games. In the balance, it's our favorite place for pizza in south OC and we are really glad it's so close to us because we go there all the time.

Good pizza, great beer, fun atmosphere! You really can't go wrong, but I'd suggest the Lahaina, Laguna, Vallarta, or Carlsbad, and if you go on Weds you can get a great deal on wings and mozzarella sticks! The beer selection on tap is unbeatable, in my opinion. I always get to try something new here, and I LOVE that about Pizza Port.

I adore Pizza Port. When we moved to San Clemente from Lake Forest, a big factor in deciding where to live was ensuring we would be within walking distance. We've been visiting various Ports for a few years now and always get the Carlsbad pizza - lots of feta, chicken, sundried tomatoes and garlic. The Ocean Beach is pretty good too - butternut squash and bacon. The buddies are great and the beer - what can I say? They have great house beers (I love the Sharkbite Red and they always have great IPAs on tap) and a nice mix of others. They had Pliny the other week. It's the real deal if you're a craft beer fan.

I was scoping this place out as a spot to unwind after the Mudrun but happened to be driving back from San Diego this weekend and popped in. I liked everything about it- the relaxed atmosphere, the pizza, all the beers on top, the people, etc. We actually sat upstairs since they show games up there (unlike the other TV's that are focused on surfing). The pizza was really good- nothing special but the crust and sauce were right on so it was perfect. I didn't care for the portzel actually but I had to try it. I happened to notice they are doing a 66-mile bike crawl in a couple weeks. Here is more information (since it's not on their site yet): sdbikecommuter.com/forum… I would recommend checking it out if you're looking for a laid back experience with great grub and brew!

Service: not bad but only did what it took to get you in and out. Not really engaging a conversation or looking to go above and beyond what's required Decor: ehhh Food: went in expecting a great pizza based on what people would tell me and ended up with a decent pizza. Not the worst but far from the best I ever had. Beers were actually pretty good. The ipa was very hoppy and flavorful. Price: food was a bit pricey for the product you got and the beers were average in costs I'd go back to try some more brews and give the food another chance.

Well, a multi-level location (stairs, stairs, and more stairs) but the view is amazing. The food was good going down, yet a couple hours later is when we paid for it. Both my Husband and I got sick.... very sick. The place is young and hip, loud and somewhat fun for the kids, but I just wish I did not have the "overall experience of food making you sick". We love the location in Carlsbad, but this was tough with kids and the multi-level seating.

Not bad if you don't mind stepping over the puke from some patron the night before or the day of in some of the surrounding lots you have to park in just to get in. Place is always hogged out and seems like some people get too hogged out here. Hence Piles of PUKE in the parking areas. Come to PIZZA PORT where you can always PARTY till you PUKE!! We don't care!!

Best Pizza in Southern California ..... great selection of house brews too. HFresh homemade sauce and fresh dough (note: the regular is bettter than the wheat dough if you ask me) I can't drive anywhere near a Pizza Port without stopping to pick up a Pizza Monterey (pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, artichoke) to take home.

This place is amaaaazing - great food in a casual, fun, entertaining atmosphere. They have an upstairs/downstairs, bar, plenty of seating, games, and delish pizza. Busy and loud, so it's a great place for families and groups. I've only been here once but you can bet that I'll be returning for sure :)

Pizza Port just couldn't go wrong. This is my third location and believe me, driving to San Clemente from North OC felt just as distant as driving to San Diego. Oh well... damn these false perceptions. 2 floors in this locale. Good thing is they have 2 bars, one upper one downstairs. Order the same drinks at either floor with identical selection, very convenient. Kids ran amok as usual, kids need beer soothing these days I surmised. In the span of 3-4 hours, I downed 6 pints of their exclusive house beers. The diverse styles ranged from the usual IPA's to English mild to imperial stout. Exceptional quality of their house beers, just like all their other locations. They're not one of those run-off-the-mill brewpubs that sprung up in the last few years riding the craft brews bandwagon. Did not eat here, as usual. But... but...just but that I've ordered 2 larged pizza to go to enjoy at home, courtesy to the buzz munchies. I ordered the Pizza Solana & Pizza Carlsbad. Pizza Carlsbad meatless, but extremely delicious and flavourful. Pizza Solana is seafood-themed with shrimp & clams being the standouts. Both are excellent for drunken dinning (regret it later when sober). Very very addicting pizza, albeit salty. Speaking of drunk munchies. I devoured their 2 full-sized pizzas myself within 3 days. It's hazardous.

Really good pizza, really good crust. Had good deals like the lunch special that was a slice of cheese or pepperoni with a salad and drink. The portions were really good and quality of food was awesome. They ask for a name that they will call over the intercom when your order is ready, funny and fake names are welcome! The entire staff was super nice and helpful.

A few friends and myself were in the town visiting, and we decided to try this place on a whim. Excellent food, the staff was very nice and helpful, and their house Hef was one of the best Hefs I've ever had! Definitely VERY impressed. We will be back!

No better place in San Clemente to take kids. The pizza is really good, the beer selection is unparalleled, a rare place where the kids and parents can both have a great time without compromising very much. Love this place!

Great Pizza joint with good food, good beer and an ocean view. I've been to the Carlsbad and Solana Beach venues and I think I like this one the best. Menus look to be about the same, but it's a little bit more spacious and the service seemed to be faster. I'm partial to the Carlsbad Pizza which is pesto, artichoke, dried tomatoes and chicken. There was a pizza we ordered today that had black beans and had a Mexican-flavor to it which was also goo. The spicy buffalo wings were indeed spicy, and our group was happy with the house-brewed Oatmeat Stout. Lots of TVs (although they were not HD) and we enjoyed the World Cup finals here. Good pizza, wings and beer, if the TVs were HD, I'd give them 5 stars :)

San Clemente is my favorite Pizza Port location. I've been a couple times for lunch and to pick up some beer on the way back to San Diego. The easiest way to park is to use their lot along Camino de la Estrella. The street is narrow, but you can easily pick it out if you're looking for the Pizza Port logo on an archway. It's a lot better than trying to find street parking on the front side but at peak hours on the weekend, good luck. The lot is located on the second floor of the building and you've got to go down a spiral staircase to order some pizza and get more than a pint. There's a bar on the second floor, but I've never seen someone actually work it. I'm not a huge fan of their pizza, but I like this place for the view, it's friendly atmosphere and it's great for beer. As far as the beer goes, it's mostly Port Brewing stuff. On my last visit, I was hoping to take home a growler of some Santa's Little Helper, but they don't have it on tap. They have a small collection (four 22oz bottles) of Lost Abbey selections on hand and I was told that they'd sold out of SLH bottles long ago. Great for groups and beer drinking.

Can't get better than great beer and great pizza. Wish that some of the beer wasn't so expensive for growler fills ($40+) but they usually are worth it (like Dusk Til Dawn). Parking can be a pain in the butt if you are trying to park on the roof. Best bet is street parking. Every time I go I usually will eat a pizza there and take another to go. The leftovers are amazing. Don't forget the growler fill (which you can fill at any of the 4 pizza port locations) to go with your pizza.

I love me some Pizza Port. Craft beers and specialty pizza, and don't forget the beer buddies! I used to stop here on my way home to Lake Forest from work in Carlsbad to grab a Pizza Carlsbad and a beer, watch a basketball game, and fill a growler or two with some delicious Pizza Port brew. Now I'm moving to within walking distance of this lovely establishment, so I see a lot more Port in my future.

Their Garlic vegetable pizza is the bomb. The crust has really great flavor and is just the right thickness. I just wish they'd cook the pizza a bit longer so that the crust can get a bit crispier. This place gets noisy so don't go there for conversation. Their oatmeal stout house beer is pretty good but could use a bit more body.

I'm an east coast Pizza snob and though this isn't east coast pizza, it is a damn fine, filling and tasty pizza. Customize yours or order off the menu. Good thick crust with enough cheese and good sauce. The selection of beers is always pleasant as well. Great place for lunch, or dinner. Sometimes a long wait for your pizza but it is worth it.

Good pizza, great beer!! Comfortable casual atmosphere. We had no plans for Valentine's day with our kids (ages 15&12), this was the only place with no wait. Our first time here and we will definitely come back!! Service was great... I highly recommend this for a super casual evening with the kids or to watch the game. Did I mention great beer?

I have mixed reviews. My brother absolutely loves this place and thinks it's one of the best pizza parlors ever. He insisted that we all drive to San Clemente to celebrate this birthday here, and we all agreed. Finding it can be a doosey. It's the white mission-like building across the street from the huge church with the lit tower. There is a small lot to park in, but it gets full fast, so street parking is available. There are two levels. The upstairs is more of a party scene/bar vibe. The downstairs has long benches that families like to congregate. We snagged two long tables downstairs and made it our own party scene. There's also a small bar downstairs as well. Oh, and the outdoor seating is also fun, but since we were still waiting on people and wanted the pizza to remain warm, we opted to stay inside. I ordered a BBQ Chicken pizza and one I created myself. Although my brothers loved the BBQ chicken with the smokey flavor and onions, I did not care for it much. I like regular ingredients: pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, olives, and basil. Some other friends ordered the Roma pizza with ham and that was quite tasty as well. The crust was good, and we love dipping it in ranch. However, since I am a fan of the ultra thin slices, i felt the pizza was still a little too thick here and i was stuffed to the max after 3 slices. The beer selection is great. Tons to choose from, and the bartender was really nice.

Remember those days in little league where you and your team went for pizza after games or just because? Well this place takes you right back when. Memories flood back.. not because this is where my coaches took me. But, because this is where you'll see lots of little leaguers come and eat their pizzas. Boasting two floors and two bar areas, this place is huge and can fit plenty of parties. You order downstairs in the ordering window section and when they announce your order, you pick it up. They have plenty of pizzas to choose from (build it your own to signature styles) as well as misc. items (bread sticks, cheese sticks, wings, salads etc.). We ordered a medium for the 2.5 of us; bbq sauce, ham, pineapple. The pizza came topped with an abundance of cheesey goodness on top. Delicious goodness. To me, it was more of a knife and fork pizza but then again, thats just me trying to eat all proper. haha. Can't comment on the price as I was not involved in that aspect of the meal =) BUT, this is a great place for beer, pizzas and good company.

Ahoy sailor, come to Port! Try this combo - Canadian bacon, jalapenos, artichoke hearts, and mushrooms. Top it off with a garden salad because is stoooopid fresh...jeah!

  • Bret C.

The beer selection is awesome so its hard to not give a five star. Food is pretty average but after a few beers I always enjoy the pizza or some beer buddies. They always have a good rotation and seem to get their hands on some of the rarest brews. Service has always been great and I really enjoy the option of two bars. Another plus is they never seem to charge more than $6 for beer, although I wish they had more stuff on happy hour!

One word for all Pizza Ports: Great! good pizza, better beer. all locations share the same. best pizza and beer for your buck in SD North county and San Clemente. possibly best in SD and OC.

I love pizza port. This is one my favorite spots in San Clemente. All the pizza has fresh toppings. Only 2 gets you super full. I had a garden salad and it was huge for only 4 dollars. I haven't tried the wings yet but I am definitly going to next time. The beer is also so good. They have a bunch of different kinds you can try. When I went in yest night with my boyfriend I wanted to get a pitcher but I wasn't sure what i wanted. My boyfriend likes bitter hoppy IPAs when i like when its a little bit lighter. They let me try a sample and it was good. Overall this place is great!

I LOVE this place!! I am a recent transplant from upstate New York. Every single time someone from back east comes to visit it is on my to do list of places to bring them. The food is always great! Even though it is a pizza/brewery you can get a FANTASTICALLY FRESH TASTY salad! They are accommodating and friendly. There isn't much of a parking lot, but I have never had a problem finding a spot on the street.

Total Fan of this place. Its great for entire family or just enjoying the great microbrews with some friends! This is not just a San Clemente classic, this is worthy of South OC destination for food and fun!

My boyfriend and I had the San Clemente Pizza w/ no cheese, added Jalepenos, but forgot the beer batter crust(booooooooooooooo). Before we made the decision it was between Zpizza(a lot closer) or Pizza Port, but it was a no brainer. This was my first time here and I am absolutely hooked. It felt guilty to eat this pizza because I try to eat as vegan as possible, but all of the ingrediants were fresh and so so delicious. No butter in the breads too! The balcony has a great view of the ocean, so if youre ever in the area this would be a great spot to grab some reasonably priced food and beers with a date or friends. Parking isnt the most conveniant, but I went on a sunny Sunday and it wasnt terrible to walk a block.

We absolutely love Pizza Port! We make any excuse we can to venture south for the amazing beer and pizza! Get the whole grain beer crust, it's amazing, even the hubby likes it. Oh and say hi to Shannon, she's our favorite! Great food, great beer, great people and great atmosphere.

Jillovespizza. Yes I know I left out an extra 'L' but three in a row is just kind of ridiculous. Jill oves pizza. There, I said it. I wish I could come to this place more often because the pizza is tasty and their beer selection is pretty amazing. Although, the first time I ate here, I ate wayyyy too much pizza and felt kind of pukey for the rest of the night, but that was my own gluttony's fault. Just don't make the same mistake! Also, if you enjoy trying new beers, this is a great place to go to, offering their own handcrafted brews (the Scotch Ale is particularly yummerz) and guest beers. Oh, and after you get drunk you can totally play video games in their arcade area!

  • Elyse L.

It doesn't get any better than Pizza Port. It's nothing for my husband and I to make the 20 minute drive one-way to get our favorite pizza. We would make the drive even if it were and hour and 20 minutes. Delectable is putting it lightly.

Pizza Port is pretty legit, what with their eclectic selection of brews, both company and non-company crafts. The San Clemente location is a great purveyor of Southern California breweries, often providing locals with the newest, and if you're lucky, rarest tastes from the local beer houses (guest beers, as they call them), including Pendleton-area mainstay Stone in addition to Pizza Port's own crafts. Often they'll deliver great crafts from many Western breweries, i.e. Lost Coast, Sierra Nevada and Allagash, which really can send you on a Pacific Coast beer-venture in one sitting! The pizza is good, truly... really good pie here. I understand Papa John's and Domino's (with their new recipe) can pretty much par up with most places these days, but Pizza Port is about the whole ambiance and selection. While expensive, I will still say their innovative and fresh topping selections birdie any well-known establishment's pizza, and you just can't get this kind of beer selection from Papa John's. The location is wonderful too, with views of the Pacific, Catalina and outdoor seating to foster the ambiance. Include being one block removed from Del Mar Street and this is a great place to spend some portion of a weekday or weekend night, especially at sunset. Good for all ages, video games and child-friendly atmospheres (like any good pizza place), but with a pizza and beer selection fit for the most discerning of aficionados makes Pizza Port a quaint, beachtown establishment perfect for the whole family (and groups of beer-happy, roving, twenty-somethings).

Ah Pizza Port, what an awesome place for fans of either pizza or beer. And if you like both, then well, you're going to be in heaven! I'm also not sure what is going on with the other reviews from yelper Ming-Jou C's review. They suggest that the name of this place reminds them of the place in Disney... Yeeeeeaah, not sure how you can even compare the two. This place has pizza and drinks at non-theme park inflated prices. It serves alcohol and actually taste better. So perhaps you should ignore those who just simply love Disney meals and focus on those of us who love an adult eating establishment that you can bring kids to. And there's plenty of kids. As well as tables and room. It's much more spacious than the Carlsbad location but there's not as many beers on tap here as their is at the other location. Which isn't a bad thing. How much beer are you going to drink anyway? You have the choice of upstairs or downstairs seating with a really nice view of the ocean through a couple of large glass windows. The benefit is there's also a bar upstairs. Plenty of Lost Abbey brewed beers here and a slew of Port Brewing's finest. I mean, you really can't go wrong coming here. The pizza is awesome, the booze selection is wide, with plenty of guest taps, if you can't find something you'll enjoy on the beer list, then you probably don't drink beer. A great stop when you're on your way back from the southern part of southern California.

OVERALL RATING = 8 / 10 The EATS: Pizza Monterey (thin crust) = 8 Garden Salad w/ Ranch = 5 The DRAFTs: Port Infamous Chocolate Imperial Stout = 9 Port Way Heavy Scotch Strong Ale = 7 Avery IPA = 7 Port Faceplant Tripel = 6 Port Luck o' the Irish Red = 5 The ATMOSPHERE = 8 The SERVICE = 8 The APPEAL = 9 If I were engineering a giant plaza/mall and selected specifc stores and restaurants to be part of it, this would be my pizza & beer restaurant (though I'm hearing that the other locations are better in at least beer selection). The Monterey - Pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, & artichoke hearts. I'd say the pizza is similar to Round Table or Lampost pizza in terms of style, but a whole level better in quality. Simply a good standard American pizza. The Beer Flight - only $1 per shot, but may be little extra if alc. content is higher. The Infamous - I'm not really into chocolate stouts but this is one of the better ones of the few that I've tasted. No surprises here. The Way Heavy - I was corrected by the bartender when he explained that scotch ales are just strong ales from Scotland. I thought there had to be a connection to scotch whiskey in some way. I tasted some chocolate and definitely a lot of malt. Overall a good beer, but not the best scotch ale I've had (Oskar Blues Old Chub). Looking forward to trying the Pizza Carlsbad. Good pizza, good beer, and pretty decent prices. Cheers!

Pretty cool place. Decent array of craft beers on tap. Multi storied and outdoor patio. Lots of TV's but doesn't quite have that comfy feel. However, the pizza is 5 stars for sure. So good. Try the place. Good for kids too.

This was my first visit to Pizza Port in San Clemente... I have been to the Carlsbad and Solana Beach many times... this joint is just as good as the other two... Now, for those of you who have never been... its a damn good pizza joint! They have great quality, especially for the price... oh, and give the beer buddies a try! Oh yea! They also have a great selection of their own brews. Staff has always been great, place is clean... food is good... beer is good... what more do you need to know??

Service was quick and friendly! We ordered a large half/half Monterey/ Roma. Each bite was overloaded with toppings and cheese! Hands down one of the best pizza ever! Their beer is awesome! We tried 3 glasses of Saison and one iPa and took home a growler of Saison. Each sip of beer was so refreshing! I would def recommend this place!

I can't say that this is a "nice" place, but it is VERY good for food and beer. The atmosphere is usually good for kids, but sometimes, depending on the crowd, it can get a little "dive-ish" if you know what I mean. The kitchen staff is pretty young and not too friendly, but it's probably mostly because they're so busy making lots of pizzas! The bar staff knows about beer and has always been very helpful and friendly. The pizza is really good, possibly the best in San Clemente. Everyone seems to like a different style of pizza, and that's all good. That's why there are so many different styles out there! But for this style, which is rich tomato sauce, thick cheese, fresh toppings, and a medium-thickness doughy crust, it doesn't get any better. If you like deep dish Chicago pizza... might not be for you. If you like thin-crust NY pizza... might not be for you. If you like crispy thin crust... try their gluten-free crust which is super thin and crispy. The beer is really the main attraction, though. They brew their own and have several really good guest beers on tap. If you're unsure of which one you want to order, just ask the bartender for a taste of any of them and they'll give you a free sample just to see if you like it. If you don't know what kind of beer you like, most of the bartenders are skilled at finding one you'll enjoy. There are two floors of seating at picnic tables, and even some outside patio tables to enjoy. It's a very casual environment and it can get loud and fun, especially after your second Double IPA. I really enjoy the Kale Salad and Beer Buddies (garlic bread). It's all great food that goes really well with a full-flavored beer. I highly recommend this place to pizza and beer lovers. I make a visit at least once a week, usually more often in the summertime.

My company gave a gift card for Pizza Port. What a great discovery! We got the Pizza Laguna and wings. It is obvious quality ingredient and it shows in the taste and freshness of their food. The pizza crust was awesome. Now lets talk about the wings. I have never seen so much meat on a wing! Damn good grub!!!

There is supposed to be parking on the roof, but I couldn't fit. There was tons of parking on that street though (the back road), so I highly recommend parking there. Pizza Port has a great laid back atmosphere and is set up on 2 levels. Inconvenient ordering system. Food ordered at one register, beer ordered at another. A little pricy. $20 for a pitcher, $20 for a pizza and some garlic buddies (as recommended on yelp). The pitcher was big. 3 people barely touched the pitcher, gave it to another patron who was happy to have it. The food was pretty good. Unfortunately, they didn't seem to be very good listeners there. For instance, we asked for chicken on our veggie pizza, didn't get it. Seems like a fun place to get together with friends when you're in that area or going back and forth to San Diego.

We went here on Friday to meet up with the guys from my husband's work and some families that lost a loved one during deployment, despite the circumstances we all had a great time and enjoyed this place! The pizza was amazing, everything you'd hope for in a little pizza joint. The *ONLY* thing I didn't care for was the getting the pizza and all that yourself thing they have going on here, well getting the pizza wasn't bad but taking on two flights of stairs anytime you wanted a beer became pretty annoying but it was worth every step because the beer was great! All and all we will definitely return to Pizza Port for a good time!

Pros: Nice, relaxed, family friendly atmosphere. Arcade games for kids on the second floor. It's loud in there, so if your kids are pitching a fit, no one's going to hear them above all the noise. The staff are great - there was a long line at the ordering counter, and we had four hungry kids with us, so one of the staff told us to just order at the empty bar. Score! Public parking lot is across the street. Generous cheese and toppings on the piping hot pizzas. They have an option to order pizza ingredients a la carte, to build your own pizza, and you can order a small, medium, or large. Cons: It takes a long time to grab a table on a busy night and even longer to get your pizza. Be prepared to wait wait wait! The pizzas we got were really runny and gooey, to the point where we had to eat our slices with a knife and a fork. The crust was a soggy mess. I'd rather fold my slice in half and shovel it in my face. The pizzas (got the mushroom and pepperoni) were also really, really salty. All of us were getting up in the middle of the night (we ate there for dinner) to down multiple glasses of water. 1am, 3am, 6am...Alas, no food coma for us. Anyway, all that being said, if we were in the mood for pizza and were in San Clemente again, we'd try some of the specialty pies...Maybe we'll have better, less soggy, less salty, luck next time.

We visit this joint when we visit my little bro in San Clemente. Great place to bring the family for pizza and games. Fun atmosphere. We usually eat upstairs so the kids can play. The staff is always friendly and the pizza is always delicious. Beer and pizza...can't really mess this one up. We'll be back.

White pizza, red pizza, pesto, BBQ, whatever. If it's got Pizza Port on the box, it's going in my belly! In fact, you could spread two-week old unrefrigerated mayonnaise on this crust and I still won't be able to resist. The trick? Beer in the crust. Fluffy, chewy, DIVINE crust. Wheat + yeast are in both beer AND bread. Why wasn't this thought of sooner? Not to mention, you can test-drive one of their dozen or so microbrews, all of which are beerriffic. After a few, those classic video game machines sprinkled around the place become hours and hours... and heck, throw in one more hour, of fun. Although all of my experiences have been at this south OC location, I'm at ease knowing that should I make a renegade trip to TJ in a moment of "I need a ceramic sombrero sculpture and a cheap bottle of tequila" madness, I can pad my cravings with two more Pizza Port pit-stops along the way. Hooray!

Not a fan. Can't figure out the fuss. I'm not a wing eater, but my family liked them but thought should be hotter. The beer bites are ok not great. This is standard pizza. Pizza Hut may be Very similar in taste, appearance and texture. Probably would not visit again.

GO HERE FOR GLUTEN FREE PIZZA: I ate here for the first time last night and can officially say that they have the BEST gluten free pizza we've had anywhere in South Orange County. Even though it was a Sunday night, it was still incredibly busy- I mean, truly packed wall to wall. It's a two story restaurant, but a lot of team sports were having their team parties. There were an equal amount of people there for beer at one of the two bars within Pizza Port, or there with family. After waiting in line and having a glass of wine (they were nice enough to switch my terrible tasting Sauvignon Blanc for a far better glass of Cabernet), our food arrived. We'd ordered a chicken caesar salad, a garden salad, a gluten free pizza with canadian bacon and ham, and a small regular cheese and vegetable pizza. They brew their root beer on site, so we also purchased some of those and a beer. The food was reasonably priced and the gluten free pizza was better than all other gluten free pizzas locally- including Z-Pizza, Selma's, Izza's, Whole Foods, Mother's, etc. If you're gluten free and feeling left out from pizza, don't be. This gluten free pizza was, according to our taste testers, even better than the regular pizza!

2009 is already off to a great start when you're with good company, awesome pizza, and complementary beer. My friend and I stumbled upon Pizza Port while driving aimlessly around San Clemente. She could not stop raving about the one in Carlsbad. "Omigod! They have a Pizza Port here?! Their pizza is soooooo gooooood! Their beer is soooooo gooooood!" How could I say no? We ordered the Pizza Carlsbad, which included artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese, pesto, and chicken. YUM. Toppings were abundant, and the crust wasn't too thin or too thick. I would've been happy just eating the crust. It's just a very good pizza. Pair that with a nice cold pint of beer, and you're set. You can sample the different beers they have, too. After trying a couple of stronger beers, the guy noticed my scrunched up face and offered a more smoother draft, the Carlsbad Chronic, and I thank him for that. *They have free parking on the second floor in the back. Just drive one street back (uphill) and you'll see a sign.

Nothing great about the pizza or the restaurant. The pizza is filling though. It's the type of place where you would want to get a fill and go! Definitely not a hangout place because of all the noise and the drunks in their late 20's - early 30's.

I've eaten here a few times now, and the beer still rocks. The pizza can be a little greasy, but so what. This isn't some kind of fancy, gourmet pizza place. It's an awesome brewery that serves great food that's perfect for soaking up it's delicious, golden nectar of the gods. Man, I'm thirsty, wish I was there right now.

Been a regular to the location in San Clemente ... sometimes I feel like Norm on the TV sitcom Cheers, everybody knows my name ... sorry, but I really love their pizza and beer, and have just discovered that the Port Salad is totally awesome! Try it! Hmm... thinking how to make it there this week ... do I need help? Maybe.

Pizza Port is right in downtown San Clemente, two minutes from the beach. My boyfriend and I were lucky to find this place after an afternoon at the beach. The atmosphere is really laid back, and the restaurant is opened up to the patio. You can eat out on the patio, but we chose to eat inside. The pizza came out really quickly, it almost took more time for my bf to wait in line for beer. Everything tasted great, and it was a nice place to just sit and relax after (as you don't have a waiter trying to get you out). The pizza was warm, and the crust was really good. This definitely feels like a nice local joint (there are only 3 locations). My one tip about this place is that, if you are a picky eater like me or you don't want every topping on the menu- it's a better deal to create your own pizza with your own toppings. It's cheaper to order that way!

I love this place. Mos def. the best pizza place in town. I always order the Monterey pizza! I love the atmosphere here. Very chill. The building is two stories. You can choose where you'd like to sit. Outdoors or indoors. There's even a little balcony upstairs, tv included. What I like about the outdoor seating is that it's enclosed so you don't feel like your just seating out on the sidewalk with a glass of beer and pizza. They brew their own beer! You can even sample the beer. The bartenders are always nice and very informative!! Love it. Go in a group. Good times for sure ;)

Would give this 4.5 stars if I could and here's why- very solid food and beer. Ordered a Port Salad and a large pizza that was half laguna half cheeseburger, pleasantly surprised by both. The salad had an array of fresh veggies and the pizza lived up to the reputation of the place. The beer was also better than I expected. I had heard of this place from several beer lovers, but was thrown off by the location basically looking like a surf shack. The beer was delicious, with my favorite being the Way Heavy (definitely not as heavy as you would think and has excellent notes throughout the beer)

Rolled into here this afternon after a little time on the beach. I was surprised how clean and spacious the place was compared to the Solana Beach location. Place was dead quiet, but not a big surprise given the fact it was 4 pm. Got the Solana pizza. As another reviewer said, their pizzas have the right amount of sauce and cheese. Quite tasty as well, although it seemed a bit on the salty side. Maybe it was just the Solana one since I don't recall their pizza being especially salty before. The couple beers I've had at Pizza port were high quality; worth going here just for them.

Finally made it here after hearing about it from so many people. I really went there for their beer selection, however, the pizza was quite amazing as well. The wholegrain beer crust really hit the spot. I was highly impressed with their selection of local beers on tap as well.

It's cool that this place has two floors. I had pizza from this place one time before, but that was a looooong time ago. I went here recently and it was pretty empty (save for the surfer dudes enjoying their pizzas and beers), but I guess that was expected since i went on a weeknight. I got a Pizza San Francisco - toppings were decent, crust was ok, overall an average pizza. It was nothing special, but I did notice that they have a lot of beers and long tables with benches, which means I would probably come again with a large group of buddies. Also, they have specials pretty much everyday. You can look it up on their online calendar - cool deals on appetizers and pints of beer.

Jeff and Ryan along with Aurora are great!!! I love the ipa beers. Ironically enough I live in SC and work in Carlsbad and I enjoy the SC pizza port the best because of the attitude of the employees.

Great place to meet friends, have pizza and sample a few beers. The festival seating is nice for getting together with friends, but it could also mean you have to wait a bit as it can get crowded. Best advice I can give to mitigate some of the wait is to have someone get in line to order the pizza (soft drinks are available in the pizza line), a second person scoping seats, and a third person to get in the beer line. The portzel (pretzel made with pizza dough) was okay, but since I've had it, I haven't felt the need to get another (the pizza is more than enough).

I wasn't sold on the wings, on wing night. its not their fault, I'm from the midwest where everything is fried :) The pizza was delicious and the beer selection was fantastic. I have the Calabassas Chronic, which i would suggest to anyone.

A perfect place for all your post surf needs, which if you're anything like me is pizza, beer, and.... beer. A solid spot that never disappoints in beautiful San Clemente from the staff to the food.

This place has a really fun and friendly atmosphere. It gets busy though so be prepared to get close to your neighbors. I had the house salad and the San Francisco Pizza. It was delicious and they have large portions for descent prices (considering it is right by the beach.) They also have a good variety of beer on tap as well as hard cider (that makes me a happy camper) My only minor and I mean minor negative was the "Portzel" (pretzel) is underwhelming though it comes recommended on the website and in other yelp reviews.

Pro- Pizza was good Nice view Good Beer Con- I felt the price was a bit high Parking sucks (normal for the area) I recently went with a buddy, and his wife. Overall it was a cool place. You can not really expect that much for a pizza place. They had a ton of beer on tap. I would recommend you going for a cool night out.

I can sure say I am missing Pizza Port now that I am in Nor Cal. The beer is awesome, the pizza is nom-tastic, beer buddies are tasty and the hot wings are freaking hot, just the way i like them. It's a solid place to get pizza and beer but if you are expecting fine dining please stay clear so is not infest Pizza Port with bad vibes. I love the Shark Bite but really anything on tap will do, if you are confused then ask the guy behind the bar, they know what they are talking about. Yes the prices are a tad high but look where you are. Near the ocean, great view, house brewed beer and quality stocked beer. If you want to save the few bucks go some where else so I can get parking next time I am down.

Best pizza this side of the Mississippi! The microbrews are pretty decent as well. The service kinda panders to locals, but this place is just too good to pass up!

I've been coming to pizza port in San Clemente for about 2 years now. Each time has been great. Maybe I have been lucky with the times I show up as I never waited in a long line.....2 people max. Environment: is great for kids and adults. There are 2 stories. Downstairs has a little patio. Upstairs has a secondary bar, arcade games, and more seating area. There is also access to the parking lot if you get lucky with a spot upstairs. Most people park in the street. My friends and I tend to sit upstairs and try to catch sunset here and there, plus there is a a 2nd fountain drink station. Most seating areas are long benches, so don't expect to have your own booth.....but they are looooong tables, so you have plenty of space. Bar: we normally don't come here to drink. But it seems like a great place for beer as they have a ton to choose from. People seem to enjoy it, but they tend to close earlier than a typical bar. Food: pizza is always consistent....at least the ones I have tried. There are many options and you can add or remove toppings here and there. Taste is obviously subjective, but I usually request pizza Laguna with chicken and add a Salad which is fulfilling. Price can be on the higher scale than most quick pizza in a box locations.....but it tastes better! I have never tried any lunch combos/specials because we usually show up after 5pm. It's definitely worth going to! Joel Valdellon eats at pizza port in San Clemente......catches last sunlight! #sun #sunset #palmtrees #parkinglot #pizza #pizzaport #sanclemente #beach #orangecounty #vegetarian #chicken #beer #joel #joelvaldellon #valdellon #joel.valdellon #comment

When we came in they seemed busy but not overwhelmed. Yet there was still a 40 minute wait for a pizza. Perhaps I've just been spoiled by all the wood-fired oven places with their crazy fast cooking times, but that seemed like a long time to wait. And I was ravenous. So slices it was. The pepperoni pieces were hot and fresh, but the cheese slice looked and tasted like it had been sitting for some time. Too bad. It had all the components of nice pizza, so maybe next time. On the other hand, the Port Salad was awesome! It was a bowl of mixed greens piled with roasted portabella mushrooms and red peppers, blue cheese, and little cubes of butternut squash. The portion was definitely smaller than I expected for $8, but so much tastier than I would expect from a pizza and beer joint. I'm not a huge salad fan, but that I would definitely eat again.

I drive all the way from LA just to drink their beers and eat their pizzas. The best. Also you get a great view of the sunset. They have their own parking lot but it's small. You can park at the street at the back. Plenty of room.

Pizza port brings to you oven fresh pizza at a no nonsense wait time. Having their own brews is a plus and always a good pairing with pizza. However, it can get pretty crowded with people flowing in and out around tight spaces and a second floor with more bar room. It's crowded for a good reason because of the quality and I already have a few favorites! Try: Monterey Carlsbad Margherita (this is my test pizza for any pizza joint) Beer buddies!

Pizza Port is San Clem's crown jewel of craft brewing! Being a craft brew aficionado I am a bit embarrassed to admit that it has taken until now to actually visit their actual brewery even though I have been sampling their Ale's and IPA's for years now. The interior is more beach city "pizza dive" than brewery until you get to the bottom floor where the magic happens and huge, glistening mash tuns greet you along with the wall of awards their beer has won over the years. The tap row is huge. I would guess that they have over 30 offerings from their own creations along with countless guest kegs from other brewers. The rotating kegs make every visit a unique experience since they always have a new brew to try. Some of my favorites include Beer Monkey IPA, Beer Gorilla Double IPA and the Chronic Ale Amber. Lab Chimp Ale failed to impress however. They also offer growlers and cans to go. As for the Pizza, I can't speak on it since I didn't try it. The aroma was between Chuck-E-Cheese and the midwestern chain Rocky Rococco's. Considering the average palette in the house being 25 years old I doubt that Mozza or Pizzeria Ortica need to concern themselves greatly on Pizza Port's competition. Pizza Port: come for the beer, stay for the beer.

Great location in the center of San Clemente. It sort of looks like a Mexican restaurant from the outside with lots of open air space. Menu is cloned from the other four Pizza Port locations focusing on thick pizzas and hot wings. Beer is the main draw here with most of the tap list comprised of beers brewed on premise on their small system. Brew equipment is right up inside the bar space. Tap list is extensive covering usually about 15-20 house beers and a decent selection of 10+ guest taps. They excel mostly at IPAs and other hoppy styles with some big surprises like their imperial coffee stouts. Go for a tasting flight if you are unsure what to order. You can also get free splashes of a beer if you don't want to even do a flight. Prices are low, about $5 for most beers. Pizza flavors have improved over the past three years with better, rustic, chewy crust and more sour tomato sauce. The gorgonzola pizza is my current favorite. Maybe a smaller variety than at PP Carlsbad. Pizza here is outstanding like at all Pizza Ports though I have *heard* that the pizza at this one is the best...but that's all subjective. If this is the only Pizza Port you plan on visiting, you must get the barbecue chicken pizza. It is so unbelievable. Ambiance is kid friendly, crowded with two stories...both stories have a tap system with an identical beer list. Parking deck is on another street from the main entrance up the hill behind the brewpub. Only about 10 spots though with unenforced street parking along the road there in the back.

You have to know what you're in for with Pizza Port when you come here. Don't expect a quiet, secluded night out. Expect loud and busy and packed with people, because they draw that many people in on a regular basis the food and drink is so good. The number of choices they have for their custom craft brews is amazing for such a small operation. They always surprise me with what they have on tap. I'm never unsatisfied with their brews, and they will gladly sample to you so you can find what your palette wants. The pizza is superb. The pizza is wholesome. Although I personally think they should call it "Beer Port", regardless of the beer, Pizza Port lives up to its name. A+ every time. Oh, beer connoisseurs, you can find RRBC's Pliny the Elder/Younger here during the appropriate seasons.

Tasty deep dish pizza in an easy going atmosphere with a ocean view and open seating. I think there might be a rooftop patio but my husband and I were content to sit in one of the balcony enclaves where we could people watch and see the ocean. we got the San Francisco which had Canadian bacon, pepperoni, onion, peppers, all good things on a nice doughy crust. Because the pizza is quite thick and filling, two people can likely share a small (we did). Not sure why the price nearly doubles when you get a medium - we saw the size diff and I think if we were to come back with more people we'd probably still get the small size and order different kinds of pizza - they have a great variety of suggested pies and of course you can do your own version as well. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and easily walked up, placed our order, grabbed waters at the self-service drink station, sat down and caught some basketball highlights (there are TVs able to be seen from just about everywhere so this would be a great place to meet for pizza and a game) and about 15min later our name was called over the loud speaker so we picked up our pizza from the order area. I like self-service places so this didn't bother me one bit. All in all, this is definitely a easy going spot - easy on the wallet, easy on the eyes (view) easy on the service - perfect for an easy going city like San Clemente. We will be back.

Don't expect it to be quick. But it's good. We waited 45 minutes for 2 pies. Cool building, 3 stories with lots of seating, games for the kids, and the best selection of beers of any pizza place I've ever been to. They host a large selection of their private brews & they host other local breweries. They're really good. Bunch of local kids working there, and the pizza is excellent! - although we mainly went for the beer. Not cheap but fair prices Good for a family atmosphere too, lots of kiddos all around, mixing with us, a bachelor party. Great spot. Highly recommend it.

This is the second time I've been to pizza port. The first time I was already in blackout mode and not even sure how they served me. I do know that this is NOT the location that I went to last time. Anyhow....this time I was at a "dry" wedding and figured out I was not too far away from here and that I could possibly convince my cohort to bail and have a few suds. I can't dance unless I've been drink so there was no need to stay. Coming through the back door I smelled the heavenly aroma of Marijuana from people toking in the parking lot. A plus for me but not everyone shares my opinion. Multilevel establishment has a bar upstairs with all the video games including pinball. Bonus. Downstairs is a bit of a confusing shit show that proves difficult to navigate. You get beer at one spot and puzza/food at another. We ordered a session IPA (just okay), and red leader amber (just okay as well). Their own beers as well as other AR offered. I'd didn't eat the pizza but I recall it being pretty good. I mean it's pizza. Pizza is pretty hard to mess up. If you don't like it, drink 5 more beers and it will taste delicious. Must come back for pizza port , STAR WARS themed party that they do periodically.

Came here on a "rainy" Saturday and it was still packed! I think that says a lot about a place. Ordered the Carlsbad pizza ( large ~$23) with chicken, feta, sun dried tomato, and pesto. It was very good and the crust was nice and chewy. I liked the combination of toppings. Also ordered the spicy chicken wings (~$7) which were just ok. I liked that they weren't too saucy but they didn't have enough spice. I would come back for the pizza and beer but the salads and wings don't seem that special. It's a cool vibe inside with the long picnic tables where you share seats with random people next to you. They also have an arcade and smaller bar upstairs.

Nothing about this place was bad. Pizza was AMAZING!! Tasted fresh and cooked perfectly. We had a lahuiana (sorry for the misspelling) pizza with spicy wings absolutely delicious. The beer was even the best I've had in awhile. They brew their own and have many to choose from. Cool gang out spot. With a top notch view. we sat outside on the balcony with bar stools but we it was refreshing staring at the beach !

Pizza Port is so much fun if you have kids. There is a small arcade type area tucked away upstairs to keep the kids busy while you wait for your pizza. The pizza is great. The sauce is good, not too acidic. And they have a nice list of ingredients to choose from. We aren't drinkers so we haven't tried the beer but the bar seems to do a lot of business and they have a lot of options.

Pizza Port has always been an awesome place to grab some decent beers and delicious pizza! We've been coming here since it opened back when I was in high school with friends for good pizza and then their craft root beer as it's super good! My favorite of the pizzas they have is definitely the Vallarta because of the artichoke hearts it has on it and the Roma as it's packed with flavors and toppings. They have a very flavorful crust that goes well with their zesty sauce and delicious toppings. You also might want to check out their whole grain beer crust for your pizza in addition to the original one they offer as it's pretty good too! We would come here on Tuesdays as they had cheap beer on those nights I'm not too sure if they do that anymore but it might be worth a shot to check out if your craving pure beer goodness. There is an array of craft beers here too! Most of which I've had and always enjoyed, one thing I've always liked about Pizza Port is that the majority of their beers are brewed in house and change every so often so you can always expect something different. One thing that I noticed this time is that they have some of their beers canned and for sale in the front so you can grab your pizza and some beers to bring home to enjoy! They have a few arcade games as well that are located upstairs in case you feel like getting your pinball action on too because that's always a good time! Yeah I was a 90's arcade rat and will always love arcades and their games the only one they are missing is a Claw Machine! Parking can be kinda a pain here too so definitely check out the back area as you can park on the roof and walk down into the Pizza Port that might save you a bit of a hassle from dealing with all that is El Camino! It's been a good wile since I've been here before today and after remembering how much we used to enjoy coming here for good grub I could definitely see a future visit sometime soon!

Simple model: pizza and beer (brewed on premise). They have award winning beer. They know know beer and pizza well and that's what they keep their menu too. The pizza is very tasty. I love their pizza sauce! The place is two-stories with a large bar on the ground floor and a smaller bar above. Parking is very limited, so you may have to park down the street. You can enter from the top (where there's the small lot) or enter below (where there's a major street). They have benches & tables plus bar stools (obviously around the bar). They have video games up stairs for the kids. The staff is friendly & helpful. So go eat and drink at Pizza Port!

Pizza Port can really do no wrong. They carry great beers, pizza, and decent customer service. Their beer selection is huge, and they carry both beers that they brew and beer from other quality, local breweries. The pizza is also strong, and I would recommend ordering one of their special pizzas. Our party had the Meat Extreme Meat pizza which was very filling, piping hot, and had just the right amount of meat, cheese, and sauce. There is a lot of seating here, and the cashier who took our food order was friendly and helpful. The only drawback to PP is that their lot parking is very limited, but finding parking on the street is do-able.

Pizza Port - One of the best in San Clemente Pizza Port is a traditional pizza place. Think old school Shakey's (I may have just given my age away), less the piano and banjo. It has the "Seat yourself", "Meet New Friends" benches and you order at the counter and they call your name when it's done. Location / Ambiance (Rating 5) It's located at the top of the downtown area. It's hard to miss and has a cool outdoor patio area that allows for people watching. (Be sure to bird watch too, or you'll lose your pizza ;) ). The building is two stories and they have a SERIOUS beer bar on both floors. They make some of their own beers (which are typically pretty good) and they carry other popular brews as well. Their happy to let you taste a couple and they usually do a pretty good job with recommendations. With regards to Pizza. You can't go wrong with any of their creations. I recommend their Lahaina. Lahaina Pizza (Rating 4) Canadian bacon, pineapple, bell peppers & onions. The crust is not "thin crust". But it's not "thick crust" either. It's somewhere in between. I personally am a thick crust lover and my first pick is a "Chicago Style" pizza. So when I first ordered this pizza I didn't expect to be pleased. While it wasn't a Chicago style pizza that get's me excited, it was a very tasty creation and well endowed with the ingredients. The dough is tasty, but the flavors just don't penetrate the dough like it does in Chicago style pizzas. I still like it and will be coming back as the only other tolerable pizza option I know in SC is Selmas. I like their style better, but it's hit and miss in SC whether it's good or not.

Shitty customer service. Waited for 30 mins after ordering, go back to counter to find out computers went down and they haven't even started my order. I had to repeat my order to them and they advised me they would get it started in 5 mins. So I Canceled order. If systems go down, let you customers know and don't have them wait while you stand around doing nothing cause you don't know the orders to make. CA up customers and take orders by hand if you have to. I would give a zero if I could. They don't have a plan b if computers go down again.

Just plain good food. Worth the money (reasonable, even!). So many beers. I had to get two flights. I couldn't not. I can't wait to go to a different location to get the full experience! Totally worth the mind-numbing drive down South.

Pizza Port - come for the beer and enjoy the pizza. A large pizza parlor ( with arcade game and tables up stairs and a bar ) brew tanks downstairs and window to order pizza. Ordered a large pizza and small pizza four a family of four - only had two pieces left over. Unfortunately they were out of their home made root beer for the kids and many of the arcade games were broken ( lost about two dollars in tokens and had some bummed kids. But I didn't come for video games and pizza - I wanted to try the beer. I ordered a flight ( 2 ounce pours & then ordered a pint ) Arcade and small pizza size took a star. Note - please fix the games pizza port.

Delicious "not wimpy" gourmet pizza. Ordered the margherita and cheeseburger pizzas. Hands down the cheeseburger wins! Cheesy, bacon, onion goodness. Chewy but soft wheat crust and plentiful toppings. Would have given them 5 stars but found a small hair on the margherita pizza. No beards please.

Pizza Port is always a good time. Great beers on tap and decent pizza. I really like Pizza Port IPA's and they usually have a couple of different ones on tap. The vibe is always very chill. I love going during the day on the weekend. It can be pretty crowded, but we can usually find somewhere to sit. Very kid-friendly. At night sometimes the crowd gets a little weird, but at those times, I just avoid sitting at the bar. My husband really likes their pizza (especially the Monterey). For me, it is only alright. I wish they had a thin crust. Also, I don't like that they put toppings under the cheese, because then everything just slides off. Other than that, it is pretty tasty.

Finally had the chance to make it down here with boo and it was worth the trip in my book. We arrived around 7pm on a Saturday and we were able to find parking at the parking structure above of the restaurant. Restaurant was already pretty packed inside. We waited about 15 min in line to place our order and we were quoted about 45 min for our pizza. All the tables were filled so we walked upstairs to the outside patio and luckily found seats in the corner which was perfect for us. We ended up ordering the following: -BBQ wings, damn they were huge! They tasted pretty good too, just the perfect amount of sauce on each wing. Just wished they were more crispy on the outside. -Medium pizza, my half Carlsbad and her half custom (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and pineapple.) I liked my half better because it was different and the artichokes were delicious. Her side wasn't as unique and so to me it tasted like Pizza Hut. -Pizza port beers: Doheny DIPA and Abraham. Both were good. I would definitely come back again to experience during the day and catch a view of the beach.

Another Pizza Port off my list! Like the other locations, this one is awesome. Parking can be a little difficult but if you drive around the back you can probably find some. The restaurant is two stories so you can get some really nice views from the second floor. The location is not gigantic but it is not as tiny as some of the others. There are two bars, one upstairs and one downstairs with plenty of tables on both floors as well. Like the other locations, the beer is great and they have a good selection. I think it is cool that each location makes their own beers so you can find different selections at each spot. As always the food is awesome!

Yasss honey Yasss! This place would be 10 stars if that was possible. I was visiting my friends who recently moved to San Clemente. They love this place as well .My bf loves going to breweries and trying craft beer. They have plenty of seating, like picnic style wooden tables. We ordered a large pizza, half Francisco, half Lahaina. The spicy wings and bbq wings. Also a pitcher of beer ( I forgot the name) and a mimosa. We did wait a little bit but not too long where I had to complain. They call your name over a speaker and you pick up your food. It fed 4 of us and we still had some wings left over. The pizza was with a wheat beer battered crust, ( drooling) you want to eat the whole pizza and crust as well, its so flavorful. The pizza is different than others I've tried. The toppings are on top of the marinara sauce and the cheese is baked on top. A+ on the pizza. The attire is casual, very chill environment. There's seating outside as well, and parking on the street. The prices were reasonable, I would definitely go back again and plan on visiting when I return.

First time trying this location, Hendrix is a Gem! She took my order accurately and even spelled my name correctly. Not a single person in my lifetime has ever done that. I'm very impressed. Oh and the Pizza was Great! First impressions are everything, I'm very attentive to detail, even as the other girl was calling out names to pick up orders, Hendrix was there to confirm that that was the person the order is intended for. I have to say Hendrix is an asset to this establishment and or any place she goes. Let's get back to the Pizza. I ordered the margherita pizza and spicy wings. The ingredients tasted fresh, especially the Basil on top, cheese was perfectly melted and creamy, the wings were good, could be spicier for hot wings but it didn't matter the atmosphere was great, lots of people great food and excellent service. What else could you ask for.

Two story pizza joint with two bars, one above another below. The kitchen staff and the bar staff need better communication. I ordered a root beer float and had to get it from the bar. When I got to the bar the tender said they had no ice cream. I was bummed and asked if I could trade it for a beer. He couldn't help so I went back to the cashier and had to get my card refunded for the float. BBQ Chicken Pizza is always good, they made the pizza 50/50 so my pizza date was able to order something different on her half. The dining hall is like a cafeteria, there are utensil and napkin dispensers throughout the place and a mini arcade upstairs. I really prefer the newest addition on Gateway in Carlsbad.

We recently moved here from the East Coast (we know pizza). We thought this would be a fun place for the kids to celebrate their last day of summer. The ambiance is chill and laid back, but the food is absolutely disgusting! It's really a fun place, but I don't think I'll ever go back due to the most vile pizza I've ever tasted. It's so bad, even the sauce is served cold. Just order a beer.

I've heard a lot about this place and was not disappoint! Bummer that they were out of mushrooms and the ice machine wasn't working. (I suspect the water shortage?) I would come back again everytime i am in the area! Kids loved it as well! Nice, think pies!!!

Love this place, the pizza is fluffy but cooked, great ingredients that blend well together and overal A+. We tried the mac bites and they were hot and the perfect blend of outside crunch but inside yummy mac n cheese. But perhaps one of the best features of the Port are their insane beers: with names like Faceplant, Pliny the Elder, and Owlbear you are sure to find a good tasting brew and it's fun trying them! Will definitely be hanging out here when I'm in town and the staff are awesome as well.

Fluffy pizza crusts and great cheese to toppings ratio. I would have preferred it to be cooked a bit longer and to be crispier. The salad was very good and had a number of different ingredients in it unlike most places where it is just iceberg lettuce. We would go again.

I tried their CALIFORNIA HONEY on a previous visit, so was looking forward to that again. It was not available that Sunday afternoon, so my friends and I got a pitcher of the SUNFLOWER wheat ale. This was also a light beer and not too bitter or sweet. Parking is on the top of place, so you'll have to drive around the corner to the street in back.

Pizza Port is the best pizza in S.C. Every once in a while I decide to try a different pizza place. I don't know why...Pizza Port IS the best in S.C. Other pizza only reminds me that I should have gone to Pizza Port. Great vibe, family and group friendly. Always see them supporting the community with % donations & fund raising for local needs. Staff is great...courteous, and helpfull. I always feel welcome and appreciated. Reminds me of the days before delivery dominated the market, when "going out" for Pizza was a treat and an event.

This place is great. Love all of their beer and their home made root beer. It's some of the best root beer I've had. All of their beer is worth trying, I can't think of any that I disliked. Their pizza can't hold a candle to NYC pizza, but it's pretty tasty for OC. The balcony on the second floor is a great place to snatch during a warm day. It's nice being up there, drinking a pitcher, eating some wings, and people watching after a long day at the beach. Also, the staff is nice and friendly.

Pizza port is the best!!! Great location, great beer selections, best pizza!!!! To bad there wasn't one closer to our home but we always had an excuse to go to San Clemente !!!!

This place is awesome! The inside is HUGE, tons of seating, two bars. It has an amazing selection of beers, friendly staff, and delicious pizza!! The atmosphere is casual and social. I went here on a Saturday night and it was slammed. Lots of people to chat with. I had a great time! I will be back.

Good beer selection and tasty pizza. It gets pretty busy and we had to wait a bit when I visited with my cousin, but good enough that I'll bring the family back soon!

Two story place. The food is great. You pay at the counter and they have picnic tables to sit at. Definitely a place to come to watch sports. They have a bar on both levels and looks like they Bree their own beer as well. Prices are decent. About $20 for a large. Pizza was made quick too! The lady at the counter needs to wear something more appropriate. Kids and most adults don't want to be eating their pizza and seeing her butt cheeks hang out. Show some class while at work.

Pizza Port hasn't caught on like it has in SD, but it is my favorite Pizza place. The Monterey pizza with artichoke hearts is normally awesome, but it was a hit doughey today. The wings are the sleeper pick here- plump and juicy! They come with just a hint of Buffalo glaze, but you can get them spicier if you want or sweet teriyaki. Be prepared for a lot of ruckus, picnic tables, and paper plates but the food can't be beat.

Really good. A bit pricey, and took forever to receive the food. But the food was worth the wait!

Awww yissss Pizzzaaa Pooooorrt. Feed me. Feed me all the things with meat on top of that pizza. Hands down, one of the best pizza joints in South Orange County. The place is rad, though, it does get super packed on the weekends. The beers are solid and just everything rules here. It's a little loud in there so don't expect a romantic outing unless your idea of that is shoving piles of pizza into your mouth while yelling "What?" every few minutes. Otherwise, this place rocks.

I frequent this location more than the Carlsbad location only because it is not as crowded. But both are equally excellent. Quality is always fresh and consistent. Service is always pleasant and with a smile. Toppings are always plentiful. Cheese and sauce are not too much or too little. A small portion salad is enough for a few bites between three people even. Hummus and veggies are yummy. Wings are good too. It isn't soggy and overdone. The Hawaiian is my go to. Ask for a side of ranch all you want - no charge.

Hands down the best pizza in San Clemente. It's a huge place with tons of seating. Can get very busy on the weekends. But, it is very family friendly and a great place to go for beer and pizza. You can't beat it. Prices are very reasonable and all the food is excellent. Great wings and pizza. The specialty pizzas are very unique and tasty. Enjoy!!

Been here twice in one week! Pizza is amazing!! First order: chicken pesto and artichoke on traditional crust!!!! Was bursting with flavors and fresh ingredients! I am really picky about chicken at pizza spots but this place was right on. Tender chicken flavorful and not rubber at all!! Crust couldve been a little one crispy but no complaints in the least other then that. Second order : Freshy Margharita pizza with chicken and olive oil no sauce. Perfect for after a long day of surfing. Again all ingredients were fresh and tasty!!! Out of the few pizza spots we have tried we will not go anywhere else around here. Side note staff is awesome, efficient, timely and friendly.

Great American-style pizza. Huge variety of food. The beers are pretty good, but the quality has not been up to par lately. The atmosphere is loud, with lots of families in the early hours, which fades to a very large and obvious divide between the local crowd and Marines, who flock here from Camp Pendleton. This place always has plenty of seating and is great for group get-togethers, which I have taken part in multiple times. They can output a lot of quality pizza relatively quickly. Couldn't tell you how many times I have been here. I am a pizza traditionalist when it comes to toppings, but this is the only place where I have found I like the BBQ Chicken pizza. Its really good! Always has fresh onions, which can make or break a pizza in my opinion. The secret "deal" that locals know about and that I think they could do a better job of advertising is Wednesday night, which (I'm pretty sure) is 50 cent (give or take ten cents) wings and mozzo sticks night. I always try and go here with a group on Wednesday to take advantage. Excellent mozzo sticks and wings. I HATE when mozzarella sticks have soggy breading which has been made soft by greasy cheese, and Pizza Port has consistently performed well above the average with crispy mozzo sticks with quality cheese inside. Good local spot though and I will always be back.

Good pizza! Beer was good. I tried the California honey beer and was happy with it. We ordered a medium pizza Vallarta and had some to take home. More than enough for two people. Their brewed root beer is very good and prices reasonably. Can't wait to come back and try some more pizza and beer.

To be honest I came for the beers. Have heard great things about their in house brews. I'd get flights of four beers so you can try different types. All of the 8 beers I tasted were excellent. Dat pizza doe! It was incredible. We got the meat lover's pizza. Tons of meat but the crust was still perfectly cooked. Also got Mac and Cheese bites. Battered and fried mac and cheese. Delicious! We got there before the noon rush on a Sunday. Started getting busy after 12. My 2.5 year old loved it. Our infant was happy in her high chair pulled up to the picnic style tables. Great service, great beer, great food!

I have been trying to make it to Pizza Port for long time, the one in Ocean Beach. Luckily, I found this Pizza Port a lot closer to home in beautiful San Clemente. We had a half BBQ chicken and half Monterey pizza, Heavenly. The friendly barkeep recommended the Calif. Honey golden Ale beer, we had a pitcher of it, very, very good. Also tried the Chronic amber ale, also good beer, but I preferred the Cali Honey. Enjoyed the outdoor patio area in front of restaurant. As others have mentioned, it can be a lot more loud inside. Many unique pizzas to try, if your not sure ask the staff.

I live in the SF Bay Area but I am often down south for business and to visit family. I always hook up with a good buddy of mine that works in San Clemente, we always go to Pizza Port for brews and Golden Tee. In my opinion the food here isn't that great, the pizza especially is pretty mediocre, but I'll always come back as long as they have good beer and Golden Tee.

Amazingly good pizza, nice spot, good beer selection (although parking can be a bi*** sometimes, but it's well worth it! A little pricey, BUT you get what you pay for, folks! Lots of larger tables to bigger parties as well. Two bars is a plus! Oh and the homemade ice cream.. so delish! Definitely out top spot for pizza in Orange County.

One of my favorite places in San Clemente. Their gluten-free pizza crust is AMAZING. And, they're starting to carry some gluten free beer. Hallelujah! Great little balcony on the second floor with good views of the sunset. Good service, good vibes, great pizza.

The best pizza but the customer service here is the worst. Tried to place an order on the phone and no answer, 2nd time got hung up on, 3rd I was asked to hold and I drove down while still on hold for over 10 1/2 mins , explained to the employee what just happened.. She could care less. Still wanted my pizza but this service is consistent with previous visits. My attitude towards the staff here from this point on will probably be less then friendly..

My fav pizza of all time, & home to my fav brew (San Clemente Chronic, or formerly known as the Carlsbad Chronic). That being said, pizza can be a very subjective subject, so I can hopefully illustrate why I'm so partial. San clemente has an abundance of pizza restaurants, & I've tried (probably) all of them. I salivate over Pizza Port because I love the thicker crust, that's flavorful & always fresh. Their sauce does the kicker for me though, as it has a tiny bit of spice to it & you could pour it over lasagna or another type of pasta, & it would make the dish delicious. Mostly, the pizza pairs perfectly with the beer (again, the "SC Chronic" is my fav). Great atmosphere; kid friendly; & awesome view from the top floor especially at sunset. Now go get some pizza !!!

Great if you like cheap food, that takes too long to get, with crappy service. Good luck on the parking as well. Better off going to La Rocco's may not be as cheap but the pizza and service are a lot better.

  • Renee M.

Another great Pizza Port! All employees were very nice and quick to help! You need to carry Moscato though like your other locations do ;) If you get a seat out front you may be able to watch the police officers picking off cars, or the tow truck towing people from the lot next door- WHICH HERE IS A PIECE OF ADVICE- do not park next door in that private lot with shops. You will be towed, we witnessed it happening :( Park on the street or in their private lot!

Why did I go? A friend was having a party and I'd been wanting to check this place out for awhile since driving to the one in SD. What did I order? Pizza and beer! Pepperoni pizza - crust is on the thicker side, pepperoni is relatively lean, not super greasy, sauce has a sweetness that blends well with the saltiness of the dough. Beer - can't remember everything I tried, but the Infamous and the Way Heavy were the standouts for me, both were aged in bourbon/scotch barrels and full of sweet oaky flavor. Insights? Parking is dicey, the lot can fit like 10 cars otherwise your parking on the street or a surrounding lot You can order beer and food from either of the bars, so getting stuff isn't such a pain standing in line for They had 16 beers on tap from port brewing and I think 10 guest beers, so pretty good selection that should fit anyone's taste I really like the venue, it's two story with benches of varying sizes inside and outside so there is an ideal spot for any group Gonna go back? Yeah definitely, it's kind of a drive from irvine for me, but it's a cool place and the combination of pizza and beer here is fantastic.

I'll start off by saying the food and beer selection are both amazing. Their house beer is always great, and they tend to have a very good selection of beer from other breweries on tap as well. I've enjoyed the pizza a lot each time I've gone. I've been to the Carlsbad location before, and decided to try this one out. The beer and food at this location was on par with the high quality I've had in the past. However, this time, I was very disappointed with the service, more specifically the bartender. I walked up and asked the bartender if they served beer flights. The bartender looked around hesitantly, and just asked if I didn't know what I wanted. I told him I did, but that I'd just like to try a few of the different beers. He then informed me that pouring a flight would be "too time consuming". I put that in quotes because that's exactly what he said. I looked back, and there were only two people behind me. That was very disappointing, as one of the more fun aspects of breweries and gastropubs is being able to get a flight and sample a number of the available beers. He didn't say he couldn't give me one, he just didn't want to because of how "time consuming" it would be, which is the most off-putting part. I love Pizza Port and would go back to the Carlsbad location, but the laziness of the bartender completely turned me off from this one.

It seems it's always crowded at Pizza Port but maybe because it's good!! We went again tonight. Ordered 2 small pizzas and fried mozzarella sticks. That and some $6 Pinot Noir made for a mighty fine dinner. Will definitely be back.

This place was BOMB! Overpriced salads so stick with the pizza. We got the bacon cheeseburger pizza which I was skeptical about but holy crap it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had!!! The crust too! Such good crust!!!

Never disappoints! Great pizza and good crisp beer! A favorite spot for me and my husband when we're in San Clemente. Pizzas and dough are made fresh to order and the garlic buddy's are amazing and soaked in butter and fresh chopped garlic! Full of beach and surfer decor which makes for a fun and laid back environment. We love coming here!

    (5)
  • Spencer L.

If you want BOMB pizza you need to eat here! Anytime we are remotely close to Pizza Port we have to eat there! We always get half Hawaiian and half BBQ chicken. On Wednesdays they have a really great deal on hot wings and mozzarella sticks as well! However, I will say, since they are SO popular they usually have a long wait to get your pizza so don't expect to be in and out. Also, the seating and noise level can get hectic since there is some much foot traffic. All in all it's great pizza! Check them out!

The layout of Pizza Port is great with both upstairs and downstairs indoor and outdoor seating on both levels right in the heart of downtown San Clemente with cafeteria style wooden tables to sit at. There are bars to sit at on the top and bottom levels as well, the bottom offering a view of their brewing barrels. This place really has some tasty brews with a ton of variety that they brew themselves, and if you have any questions they usually have a brew master on the spot. I had the Chronic brew and the Hammock brew, both were fantastic. I also sampled a few other good ones with the group I was with. The pizza ain't bad either. I went with the Carlsbad pizza which was topped with mesquite chicken, tomato, artichoke hearts, and feta cheese. They also had a number of other creative and classic pies to choose from. All in all I loved the variety of brews and pizzas along with the beach city setting Pizza Port offers. It probably deserves 5 stars but I don't like to give those out very often.

Pizza Port was the very first pizza place I tried when I first moved out here an I gotta say it made me love this place even more because of their awesome pizza!! Pizza is great every time! The wings could be better. It tasted almost as if I was just eating microwaveable wings. Poor chicken quality. The cheese sticks were soooo good as well!! I may get those every time now! I love the fun names they give their beers an it never fails that they serve such tasty beers. I got the California Honey the other day and I really hope they have it again when I go back because of how fresh and smooth it was. I also love how they have the outside seating. It's a perfect place to have lunch or dinner!!

  • Jenn P.

This place has really interesting pizzas, but I go for the beer. There are a bunch of different beers on tap, and though I usually prefer lighter beers, I LOVE their Oatmeal Stout. Go figure. I like the Carlsbad pizza, with pesto sauce, artichokes, and sun-dried tomatoes. They also have a cheeseburger pizza that looks like a clogged artery waiting to happen. I'm not such a fan of the long tables and bench-seating, but it's not a big deal in such a laid-back atmosphere. There's an additional bar upstairs with more seating, and a few arcade games surrounded by the local gromies!

BEST pizza joint in all of South OC. The pizza itself is amazing. The selection of beers is crazy. The waitress had a lot of pretty tattoos and served everything with a smile. The ambiance is great, and my husband keeps himself entertained at the pinball machine. What's not to like, I ask you? A good time is pretty much guaranteed.

The best way to describe the pizza at Pizza Port is it's like the "Mama Bear" in the Goldilocks story - kind of doughy and not that important to the whole experience of the restaurant. By all means, go here for beer. The beer is great, and cheap. A couple pitchers and some beer buddies (these fabulous fatty cheese covered bread appetizers) and call it a day. Hungry for pizza? Go to Sonny's or Selma's. Sonny is a bit sweeter and it's thin with a crispier crust. Selma's, well, check out my other review.

No complaints here. Randomly went here on a Sunday and randomly got drunk. Beers I had that you should try: Carlsbad Chronic and the stout. The stout took me over the edge so stay clear if you want to avoid strong alcohol. Stuck with the cheese pizza and god, I could not get over the sauce. And the cheese. The sauce and the cheese - the foundation of a good pizza. Parking is on the roof the restaurant, weird but you'll understand when you get there. Seating arrangements consists of bench tables so on a crowded day, you could be drinking alongside strangers. Bar seating also available. Pizza and beer. GOOD pizza and beer. How could you lose?

First things first! The pie! It's SO good! I don't think I've ever had a bad pie here! The crust is so perfectly hand tossed and it's soft chewy crispness melts in your mouth! Beer buddies.... SO good! Try the ones with cheese! Salads... HUGE and ALL flavors are so good, you can share a regular sized portion with two people, maybe three. The beer... CAN NOT GET ANY BETTER! Port Brewing is the best! Don't waste your time on the cheap wine, try a craft brew! Really!! Keep it up guys!

  • Michael G.

The beer is great! Cold, tasty, little more expensive than most dive bars, but it is mostly all hand brewed beer. The pizza not so great. Overpriced for sure. I mean, with Dominos and Popa John's now offering a large for 10-12 bucks loaded, it's hard to pony up 22 bucks for a large pizza. That doesnt even include a salad. The pizza I ordered was some Laguna speciality. Way too salty for my taste. I was left with an insatiable thirst. Maybe this is a stragedy to make you drink more beer. Atmosphere... so, so. Yeah, eating on wood benches under florescent lights is okay when you're in college, but I'm not in college anymore. The tables were a mess as well. Kids running all over the place upstairs like it Chuck e'Cheeses. I have no idea why is place is so popular considering there are so many other way better pizza options (Sonny's, Italian Craving's, etc, etc), right around the corner. But one thing is you can certainly get drunk her and those other places dont really seek that clientelle. So for a great, fun bar, Pizza Port, yes. Awesome beers, but if you're going out for dinner, I suggest someplace else.

When I moved to LA from the east coast, I set a goal for myself: visit all three Pizza Port locations. Before the drive out to California, my lone Pizza Port experience came at the Extreme Beer Festival in Boston during February of 2006. That night I sampled SPF 8. After that taste, I began researching the locations and dreaming of frequenting all three. Within a month of my move to LA I decided to drive down to San Clemente on a whim, as it's the closest to where I live. I brought two friends along for the drive. I couldn't control myself from drinking most of the beers on tap that night: Way Heavy, T Street Wheat, Pier Rat Porter, Badonk-A-Dunkel, and Amigo Mexigan Lager. I also had a small pizza. The pie was above average compared to others I'd had in LA at that time. We sat outside at one of the picnic tables and slowly got hammered. The beers were, well...let's just say I'm glad I live on the west coast now. In order to sober up before driving home, my friends and I took the small downhill stroll to the pier and beach. We spent time on the pier talking to some fisherman and generally having a good time. Last night I returned to San Clemente for the first time in three years. I split an order of Beer Buddies and a small veggie pizza (mushroom, onion, tomato, spinach) with two friends. The pizza was as tasty as I remembered, the beer buddies were slightly burnt but that in no way affected their deliciousness. I drank an Earnest's Silky Smooth Oatmeal Stout, my friends had the Dawn Patrol Brown. Again, after dinner we walked down to the pier and beach. I've since visited the other two original Pizza Ports (haven't been to the brand-spankin'-new one in Ocean Beach yet), and I think San Clemente is the best of the bunch due to its surrounding neighborhood. Then again, I haven't taken as much time explore Carlsbad or Solana Beach. My ranking of the different Pizza Ports can -- and most likely will -- change in the future. Stay tuned.

Fabulous! The place to come for a locally-brewed pint and some great pizza. If you're into hoppy beers you'll be in heaven; if not, try the Clemente Cream Ale for something smoother and v. refreshing. The Chronic is a perennial fave. Pizza-wise, at first glance the crust may look thick and doughy, but fear not! I usually prefer thin crust too, but you can taste that PP's offerings are homemade and fresh, with a thickness that just goes with the territory. The SC branch can get pretty screamy in the evenings with plenty of young families in attendance, but with two levels there's always a good chance of finding a quieter corner. It's great to have a local bar to call our own!

Best craft beer selection in all of South OC. Hands down! They always have a good selection of top notch IPA's, such as Pliny the Elder, Maharajah, etc. Pizza is okay, not great. The food is decent, but their beer is uneqivocally the best around. Unless, you head up to Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach!

Ok, first I have to address "NJ chicks" post about NY/NJ pizza. I've been to both places and the pizza is nothing the brag about, there are no more decent pizza joints in those areas than any other city I've ever been too. In fact, most of what they call NY style pizza means "we made it this morning and it's been sitting here all day, plus we made it too greasy and to thin." if any city can lay claim to a repetitive, solid style of pizza, it's Chicago. Anyways, the pizza here was 4 stars, pretty decent. I had my chicken/bacon/pep combo. The service was 2 stars, I don't mind have to pickup my own pizza and beer, but I definitely didn't need to be looked at like a idiot when I asked what pizza is the "must have for a first timer". They really didn't care to smile or make anyone feel welcome, same with the bartender, as a person who hate commercial beer I was really hoping to have something unique but he acted like he didn't know what that was, I might as well have thrown a dart at the menu and took where it landed. I'd go back for the pizza and hope for better service next time

Great Place for beer but that is absolutely it. Much better local places for pizza, pizza here is average at best. Their pizzas are not even made in a traditional pizza oven. My kid loves this place, because of the games upstairs for children to play, the problem is the games are all mostly old, suck, and over priced. When I say overpriced that means it is cheaper to go to Dave N Busters, or Chucke Cheese if you are thinking of visiting here to take the children out.

  • Randy E.

Awesome beer and great pizza. It doesn't get much better than that. Parking can be a challenge, but outside of that no complaints. They serve all of their house brews which are epic and also have a ton of guess brews from local and not so local brewers. If you like good quality beer & great pizza this place is for you, if your a Coors light gal, go to Shakeys. Great for a large group and kids, or just by yourself.

Feb 2012: We've bee going to Pizza Port for 20 months now. Started going in Solana Beach in 2010, now we've been going to San Clemente for 6 months. These past two times visiting San Clemente Pizza Port, the crust has seemed get skimpier each time... I hope they aren't skimping to make a better profit. I will give it more tries. It is still the best around. But reallllly hope they get back to the quality that Solana Beach has... Update April 2012. The crust today was thicker, back to the old and loveable crust we were used to!! Maybe the winter crust was just a glitch. Or they heard us. Either way, I'm happy that it's back to decently thick!

5 star beer joint 3 star pizza local brew is reasonably priced with a nice variety of stronger ales. pizza is california style - slightly thicker, chewy with some unique topping combos. I think they had a bean dip pizza. I stuck to the margherita and veggies which were okay and gave me something to wash down with the beer.

This review is for the ambience, or lack thereof. Walked in and stood in line and after a while it became apparent that this wasn't going to be my kind of pizza joint. I've always appreciated being waited on....I don't mind placing my order at the counter but I really don't like having to shlep my own food around. Once I figured out that I'd have to order pizza at one counter, beer at another, and find a seat on a hard wooden bench filled with strangers I was close to giving up. What pushed me over the edge? PAPER plates and PLASTIC forks. COME ON!!!! It looked like a lot of pizzas were being taken "to go" and if I had had somewhere I could've taken one to eat it (on a real plate) I just might have tried it. This just seems like a really low-rent version of a pizza place.

Great beer selection. Great atmosphere. I recommend any of their home brewed IPA's. 4 stars because the pizza is crap compared to the place around the corner (La Rocca's). Still, a fun place to hang after a surf.

Friendly staff, fast service. We are not drinkers so we don't go for the beer, we go for the food and for the kids to be able to play a few of the games...the first 2 times we ate there, food was good, not outstanding but good for a pizza place, however, we ate there this past monday (6 of us) we ordered a variety of menu itms, and some sodas, the pizza was good, the cajun bites were good but the 3 of us whom consumed some of the caesar dressing started to feel ill shortly after we finished eating and by the time we got home we had full blown food poisoning, it was horrible... 2 days home from work, sick all day and all night with the worst vomiting and more (as you can imagine what food poisoning does to your system) not good. Might be a long time before we venture in there again.

DANG! Pizza so good it makes me sing!!! No, I'm not exaggerating, I'm serious. I would prefer pizza from Pizza Port than Bj's and I used to be Bj's number one fan. Pizza Port is definitely a force to be reckoned with, they may not be as popular but their pizza is definitely a home run! They are very creative with their pizzas and the combinations work really well together. The pizza Carlsbad is definitely BAADDD( the good bad, not bad bad.) The beers they have on tap are great too, I had a girly beer (a pear cider) but it still got the job done! ( or it could be that im a light weight! Meh.) I like coming here on a lazy Sunday just chillin' with a beer, beer buddies, pizza and some Sunday night football.

I love this place!! I had the pleasure of going here after a 3 hour bike ride in Dana Point! This is exactly what the doctor ordered! My wonderful boyfriend and I decided it was time to load up on the carbs, and boy did we do it in style! First we ordered some some Portzels which were wholegrain beer crust pretzels with sundried tomatoes, feta, garlic, basil & oregano mixed in! These were delicious, but needed some of their fine marinara to dip into. Their pizza sauce is delicious and flavorful. We also ordered up various Microbrews at the bar. I tried their Cream Ale which was amazing, and then followed up with a Pear cider. The pear cider was light, and crisp, and easy going down! My boyfriend ordered various dark beers...do not expect to go into here ordering a Budweiser as they do not serve anything but various microbrews! While waiting for friends to join us we ordered up a Medium Pizza San Francisco which had Canadian style bacon, pepperoni, salami, bell peppers & onions..One of the best pizzas I have ever had! It came out piping hot and loaded with delicious toppings!! I cannot wait to come here again for more amazing beer and pizza! Definitely one to check out if you are in San Clemente!

Here's the deal with the San Clemente Pizza Port. The food is actually really, really good. Based purely on the food I give this place 4 stars. My beef with Pizza Port is that upstairs it is like a freaking sauna. There literally is NO AIR MOVEMENT. It is stifling. I was up there less than two weeks ago and I was looking around at the people and everyone was sweating and using paper plates as fans. Seriously I cannot stress enough at how terrible the HVAC is in this place. Pizza Port owners- do all of us a favor and address that sweat shop you call an upstairs eating area. PLEASE!!! Even if you opened the windows or put in cheap ceiling fans- anything would be an improvement. Right now it is a gross, sticky swamp that you can't get out of soon enough. Please fix it!!!!

Go for the beer, the pizza is nothing to write home about, I was disappointed bartender was nice The dinning area is loud and dirty. It looks like the building is falling apart.

Great pizza, great buddy bites and of course EXCELLENT beer. This is one of our "go to" places in San Clemente. Try the cheeseburger pizza or the San Clemente pizza; they're awesome. Parking can be a little rough especially on the weekends, so go early.

Since I was drivin' I didn't partake in the beer so much but shared a medium San Francisco pizza with a friend and watched the Lakers - Rockets game. This seems to be the place to do it. I liked that there was an older senior citizen couple there in full lakers attire. Also - I can't believe I passed this place... My GPS kept directing me to Sonny's Pizza which is farther down the street. It also didn't help that I was looking for more of a divey kind of place. Pizza Port - BIG WHITE MISSION STYLE BUILDING. Check. Anyway - the pizza was decent. Nothing very memorable but my heart belongs to a place that themes the pizzas with California city names. If I were to come back - it would probably be to try the beer (of which there seemed to be a large selection) and I would come with a big group of friends. P.S. I love when Pizza Joints have arcades in them. I think it is a must for all pizza places (like Galaga and Street fighter - you have to have these things)

This place is more for people who want beer - personally, not into drinking down empty calories. I agree with another yelper they should change their name as it is a little misleading. We happened to find the place as we were finding the Cabrillo Theater which is a small local theater. We ordered the small garlic veggie pizza - 8.25 - a little overpriced. The pizza was fair to average but I've had better. Pizza took a long time to come out. The place is noisy, rowdy and didn't really enjoy the atmosphere. Lots of people there to drink as they have their own brewery on site it seems. Tables were a little dirty and I went outside to check to see the restaurant's rating status. It said it had been recently inspected that month but there was no A, B etc status. Not really my type of place and pizza was overpriced but average.

I think the people who have reviewed Pizza Port are DRUNK! We have driven past Pizza Port on many occasions, always to find it bustling with people -- inside and spilling onto the outdoor patio. This also seemed like a great place to bring the kids, along with a break from the kitchen for mom. We were highly disappointed in the quality of their pizza. I don't know, maybe I am just spoiled with East Coast (NY/NJ) pizza. You know, the kind that is soft and chewy on the top, and crunchy on the bottom. Oh, wait, no you don't. I would recommend this place to college-age kids who are looking to hang out, drink beer, and oh ... if they are hungry, grab a bite of whatever cardboard they are serving. This place is awesome. When I die, I'm going to wake up in my own personal heaven and its going to look just like this place. I love it here. Its a Dive-ish kinda place. From-scratch pizza. Beer brewed in house. It really doesn't get any better. A pizza is only as good as its crust, and these guys nailed. Not too thick, not too thin, just nice, fluffy and soft. They have a whole shitload of set menu style pizzas to choose from and an entire menu of toppings so you can customize your own. Or, if you're an jackass, and not in the mood for awesome pizza, then you can just stick to their bar. They have a whole menu of beers on tap that they make in-house. Everything from pales, to reds, and back again. The Carlsbad Chronic is probably the best pizza companion beer I've ever had. I'm totally fucking addicted. The Beer Buddies need a paragraph all their own. All it is, is just pizza dough covered in garlic and some kind of herb rub, but they're awesomely outrageous. They also have a habit of playing awesome music 24/7. Not just trendy pop radio, which means the world to me. Ohh, and they have video games. Sadly though, no Metal Slug. The only thing that sucks is that they're located right in the middle of Cop Country, USA, so you have to be careful not to drink too much unless you have a DD. And thats really hard to do because the beer is so eff-ing good.

Josh is an endless encyclopedia of beer knowledge and is nice and helpful to everyone that comes in. The lunch specials are amazing; a big slice of pizza a salad and a house brew for $7 / wing wednesday 35 cent big size hot wings. you really can't go wrong here!!!

Pizza port is hands down my favorite pizza in California, period. It is consistent among all of the locations. Beer buddies are always a great starter. Add cheese if aren't worried about calories and are a cheese lover. Definitely ask for a side of ranch and dip everything you eat in ranch. AMAZING!! This location is really cool with multiple levels. Parking seems it would be a pain during busy times, but we hit it up on our way down to San Diego for lunch.

What, what, what? There's more than 1 Pizza Port? Ugh. Well, apparently this is the case and I had no idea, that was until Friday when my girls and I had planned a meeting at Pizza Port for 1:30. We were in SD the night before and they were heading back down to LA and OC and I was heading back up to SF and while I figured it might be a tad out of the way to hit up the Solana Bach locale and then give me a ride to the airport, I had no idea the plan was to drive half way to LA. Whoops. Oh well, so now that you know, there are 3 locations and this one is great. Their pizza is totally solid and while my appetite was a bit off thanks to a few gallons of liquor in the form of Effin Cherry and Coke at our SD Yelp party the night before, I still managed to enjoy a slice and a half. We ordered the BBQ chicken and something with artichokes and feta. I am not really a fan of either of these styles of pizza which is important to note because they were still really good. I also spotted wings on the menu (weeee!!) and I will definitely give those a go if I should ever find myself in San Clemente again. I'm guessing though, that the odds of that are slim. Oh well, Pizza Port, definitely worth breakin' a diet or a waistline for.

You know that friend of yours that refuses to watch "The Godfather" even though you keep telling them how awesome it is, but they're just stubborn and refuse two devote any of their time to Don Corleone and his family? Well, that was me with Pizza Port. I kept hearing about it - I mean how great could it really be? Really goddamn great, it turns out. Ferrealz. Three ways to win over my heart: 1-Give me artichokes and feta. 2-Cure my hangover. 3-Pixies. As in "The" not as in fairies. Pizza Port did both, and they did them well. That's some of the best pizza I've had in a while. I think I need to make a post 8pm visit here one day to check out all of this microbrew and bands and such. Curse me for ignoring Pizza Port for so long. I'm a believer now! Thumbs Up: -Feta. Hangovers. Pixies. Thumbs Down: -Almost in San Diego. You're oh-so-far away!

Now this is what I would call a good pizza! Lets just put this out there.... much better than Sonny's! All the toppings were fresh and the mushrooms were delicious... real chunks of portabella....yum! The sauce was great and they didn't over load on it. We saw them make their own dough and I have to say THIS crust was perfect! Pizza was not greasy or oily.

We hit this place after going to a micro brewfest. So we were a little tipsy to say the least. Luckily the DD was not. But anyway, apparently everyone one else at the brewfest had the exact same idea, because the place was ass packed. Luckily our little group had made it in before the hords and we were waiting for our order to arrive while everyone and there grandma was standing in a massive line to order. Ok on to what we ate. Our fellow party goers suggested that they were getting some Mac and cheeses balls. So we got a few orders. Daaaaaaamn! They were delicious! Highly recommend getting these crunchy outside but cheesy gooey inside. As for the pizza, they are no slouch either. We got a small pepperoni and artichoke pizza, just enough for two along with the order of Mac & cheese balls of course. Must mention the ginormous salads that other peeps were ordering. They looked like they could serve like 6 to 7 people. Unfortunately, I cannot review any brews from pizza port, cause we definitely had our fill of free beer at the event earlier. But that's a different story all together now.

This was the 2nd location I have visited and it was on a Thursday afternoon. I stopped in for a quick bite and liked this location better than their Solana Beach port. Great pizza, great beers (their own as well as other great locals) and very good service both ordering and behind the bar!

I finally got to try this place after hearing my hubby love the beer & pizza for years. I don't like beer but he's an aficionado and I trust his judgment in that area about choice and quality. I tried the freshly brewed Root Beer to take advantage of their in house brewery and it was Delicious! The pizza was awesome we got the one with the Delicious mushrooms and another with pepperoni and I was impressed with the sweet chewy crust and fresh tasty generous toppings! I look forward to my next trip. The atmosphere is fun and there are three seating choices, fresh air, upstairs, or a first-story-where-the-action is table. I will get a t shirt or sweatshirt from their swag cabinet next time. :)

When I lived in San Diego I would frequent the Solana Beach location. Very casual and local feel, good pizza, good beer and great homemade root beer. After moving to Orange County I was thrilled when I heard a Pizza Port was opening in San Clemente. Have eaten at this location at least a dozen times with the family, but last weekend was my last. The pizza was bad, the service was worse and the attitude of the staff was worst. The local feel has come to mean - exclusive; if you're not friends with the staff don't expect service or attention. The casual atmosphere has become - dirty; grimy tables, filthy floors, disgusting bathrooms. There was no ice in either soda machine, the soda was flat in the upstairs machine, there were no plates on which to eat pizza, there were no boxes to box up your pizza, there were no utensils with which to eat your salad or pizza. It was just clear to me that no one cared about the customer. It was like a clubhouse for the employees - who have always been young, super cool, surf rats - but at least they used to pretend to care about the customer. It wasn't just me, the family next to us had the same complaints. Incredibly disappointing as this was at one time, one of my favorite places.

Full disclosure: I am a huge fan of San Clemente. As a result, my feelings towards Pizza Port may be slightly biased. I absolutely love their pesto-chicken-artichoke-feta, etc pizza on the beer crust but have since managed to do it on my own at home. What I cannot ever approach is the beer. My long term favorite is Carlsbad Chronic but anything that creeps towards and beyond the 8% level is good in my book. As for the earlier people that thought the people that reviewed Pizza Port were drunk: you're probably right. At least we're a happy lot!

Great place after a day surfing at San O. My friends and I were starving and we decided to come here. A few of my friends had already gone before which is why they recommended it, so we ate here and ordered a sausage/mushroom pizza and a sausage/pepperoni pizza on the multigrain crust. That's my favorite part: the multigrain crust but the rest of the pizza was pretty standard.

  • Geoff R.

This is a fun place. Mellow vibe, good beer, and good pizza...usually...once in a great while the kids working in the kitchen over-do it on the sauce. But other than that one complaint, I have no gripes about this place. It is, for the most part, a great night out. This joint is the best place in San Clem to get pizza and a beer!

    (4)
  • Nathan K.

Great pizzas with lots of unique toppings. Although I prefer their "pizza roma" which has the traditional toppings. Their store made microbrews are even better. They won some awards in 2010 for their IPAs. A family oriented place where the surf, locals theme is very evident. It gets pretty loud on the weekend nights. This store is an American Airlines diner location so you get double points if you have a AA credit card. One of the must go to places to eat at if you want to experience the San Clemente scene.

This place has the best pizza life has to offer :) They don't deliver but it's worth the pickup. Prices are just a tad higher than other pizzerias. Both the food and the beer rock here!

Pretty much the best brew selection in south county. I love IPA's and other hop-heavy beers and this place is the mecca. The selection is always changing, so there's always something new to sip on. Slice of pizza, a salad, and Pizza Port's own Psuedo IPA (Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal Winner) all for under 10 bucks. It's a total steal. Gotta make it before 3. The pizza's a total home run, with whole wheat dough as an option. Try the beer buddies with cheese, you'll be stoked.

My coworkers all rave about this place, and I finally got the opportunity to tag along for lunch. Parking is up top, we managed to get a spot in the "parking lot", strolled down 3 flights of stairs, and were able to order our food right away. I hear the beer buddies are to die for, and they look super good, I think next time I'll get just an order of those with a beer to wash them down. This time I opted for the lunch special of a slice of pizza, a salad, and a drink. Since I wanted a beer instead of soda, I ordered my lunch special at the bar, it's only a dollar more than if you were to get a soda. So about $6 after tax. Not bad at all. HUGE salad, HUGE slice of pizza, and an oh so tasty pint of beer (or cider!). I had the Irish Red, it was pretty good. My slice of cheese pizza was just OK. Super greasy and it seemed like it had been sitting there for a while. HOWEVER, I was looking around me at all the other peoples full pizza pies, and they looked SO freakin' good. Fluffy crust and cheese, and lots of different toppings. I DID like the crust on my basic cheese slice! It's a bit confusing being in there because it's loud and a lot of activity is going on and you have two lines to get into... but once you've been there, I'm sure the experience will keep getting better as you familiarize yourself with the drill of the place. They have a nice unique selection of beers on tap, and they brew their own as well. I like that aspect of the place, it's not just another whole in the wall pizza joint. I like the multi-layers of places to eat too, including the outside options. It adds character and gives you the option of being semi-secluded or smack dab in the middle of all the commotion! They call your name when your food is ready, so pay attention people. The guys that work there seem pretty nice, including the fellow behind the bar. I didn't ask for a taste of the Irish Red, but he gave me one all the same. Not sure if that's protocol, or maybe he just did that because most girls don't know beer? I dunno, but I thought it was cool and I was thankful to have him do that. (Even though I knew what type of beer I was getting) I see where the prices can be a bit much, but they DO have specials, so if you're penny pinching, utilize them! I look forward to having more lunches here! Oh and you can get a jug of beer to go for $19. That seems typical, I think Karl Strauss' are more???

I feel like a traitor going up to the OC Pizza Port first rather than the ones in San Diego being a San Diego transplant and all, but hey... I'm sure the one up here is on par with the ones down here. The pizza is great here and they have a wide variety of choices. Plus they dont skimp on the toppings. They totally load on the cheese, meats, and veggies. As great as the pizza is, it's all about the beer they brew and serve here. They have about a dozen home brewed beers along with other locally brewed beers such as Stone. I had the Doheny Double IPA. Nice and hoppy. =D I swear beer + pizza = super win! This is a super kickback spot. Bench seating and long picnic tables. I wish they had more of a patio being near the ocean and all. Great spot. Bring a group and buy several pitchers! =D

This is good pizza place in San Clemente. It has a great ambiance that totally fits the locals. I'm not crazy about their Pizza...don't get me wrong it's good but I LOVE Chicago style. Their beer is awesome! I can honestly say that I have never had a beer here that I didn't like. :)

Everytime I am in San Clemente I go here. I love the beer. In 2010 Pizza Port San Clemente won best small brewery at GABF. They also have several Gold Medal Winners from GABF. Impressive. Try there IPA's. I like the pizza too. Check out the lunch special. You get a salad, a large slice of one topping pizza, and substitute the soda for a beer. This is about $6 and change.

Now, I am NOT a pizza fan but my kids wanted to have their friends over and they requested Pizza Port. So, I went. I guess kids know pizza because this was amazing for what I usually consider unhealthy food. Crust, topping, everything was tip-top. I should thank Pizza Port and a little group of teenagers for the experience.

Good beer, good pizza! Be prepared to have a hard time finding a place to sit. However, we were there on a Saturday night so it can be expected. What I did not expect was to see a large number of kids inside playing video games. It is a very family friendly place, so if you are looking for a pub experience, this place is not for you.

It is just too loud in here to give Pizza Port 4 stars. Like an adult Chucky Cheese, this 2-story microbrewery has video games, long wood bench tables and a big patio facing Camino Real. The kind of place you come with the team after the game. The pizza is thick and chewy, the way I love. The most picky pizza snob can find ingredients that work. THe caesar salad is creamy and grlic laden.

This place is awesome! One of my favorite places to go for pizza and beer. They have so many different types of craft beers and they're all brewed by them or their location down in Carlsbad. Service is great, just walk up and order your pizza and they'll call when ready. There's arcade games for kids upstairs so it's great for parties. It does get really packed but it's a great atmosphere. Plus, you're right on El Camino Real in downtown San Clemente.. What's not to love?!?!

I love all Pizza Ports for their brews and their pizza, but this one tops 'em for ambiance! Two stories with three outdoor decks and tons of seating. Beer on tap on both the first and second floors. Pure awesome!

This is a really fun place to get together with friends and family, hang out, eat pizza, drink some cold brews and people watch. Pizza is not the best but on the better side. They have some home brews that are pretty good. Sit outside on the patio or upstairs by the window, enjoy the ocean breeze and watch the people go by and the people inside. Lots of games for kids, little and adult.

Pizza Port is the sister company of Port Brewing and Lost Abbey so you know they're serious about their beers. The pizzas aren't half bad and the bartenders are friendly with the tastings. This place is perfect for any beer lover that wants to casually grab some grub after a day at the beach.

  • Eric S.

Let me start this by saying that I'm not a drinker. Blasphemy eh? Well, that being said, I have little to say about the microbrews here except that my beer afficionado friend couldn't speak highly enough about their different beers. Apparently they even have a coffee beer that "tastes like a shot of espresso". Meh, sez I. Now on to the real stuff. The pizza. When someone tells me that some place "HAS THE BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER EATEN!!!!!!", I usually ignore them completely. Too often this has led to eating at some weird little pizza place with questionable hygeine, and pizza that should really appeal to nobody, but apparently appeals to the one person I'm out with. I was told the same thing about Pizza Port, so I went in with grave suspicions. I'm glad to say that my preconceptions were completely incorrect. The pizza here was excellent. The crust is fantastic and reminiscent of stone oven pizzas. The sauce is fantastic. The cheese wonderful and creamy. I was a bit non-adventurous, and went with their "Meet extreme Meat" pizza. Fantastic. There are a lot of other pizza options up to an including BBQ, ranch, and pesto pizza sauces, and a wide variety of toppings. I did have their brewed rootbeer. It was quite good. In terms of quality, I'd compare it to an "Abita", though only a close second. They also do homemade ice creams, which I did not get to try out as I had gorged myself on delicious pizza, and short of causing an unpleasant public gastric disaster, cramming some ice cream in was not in the cards. I'll make sure to leave some space the next time I'm there, which I'm sure will be soon (it was that good).

Since the end of my college saga in San Diego and frequent trips to the Pizza Port in Solana Beach back in the day I have kept my Pizza Port cravings suppressed with the San Clemente location. Let me just start by saying this place has a special spot in my soul. In my opinion their pizza is the BEST. If you like microbrew beers theirs are amazing, especially the "Sharkbite" Red. Great spot and amazing food/drinks. Bring the crew and plan on staying awhile.

Pizza port yay!!! Thats how good this place is. But be prepare it like round table which they cater to kids too. The beer selection great especially if you like me who loves drinking good beer. Last time i went i had a good time talking to people about beer. what else their pizza fantastic. I would recomment anymore who likes beer and who makes their own beer to check out this place.

Best microbrewery I've been to in Southern California. The pizza is really good but the brews are better. The San Clemente set-up is really cool. I like parking in the back and walking down into the joint. Freaking sweet.

This place makes the best cup o' pizza. In fact, it's so good that they put all the other cup o' pizza guys out of business. In all seriousness, this is the best pizza in San Clemente - great crust, flavorful, garlicky sauce and lots of toppings. As good as the pizza is, though, the beer is better. Particularly if, like me, you are a "hop head." You won't find that mamby-pamby Gordon Beirsch sweet-type beer here, no sir. All of their IPAs and double IPAs are outstanding. Don't forget to hit up the Golden Tee 2007 machine and take home a growler or two also.

Tasty Grub & Grog as advertised on their website, this you will truly find at any of the three Pizza Port locations. This Pizza port is three levels. We parked on the roof parking and went down the flight of stairs. [Curiously wondered how many people have munched it down these stairs through the years - whole lotta beer + stairs = ?] The main bar is on the ground floor but there is also another bar on the second floor, perhaps for when this place gets movin'. It was pretty dead when we were there though. We ordered the PIZZA ROMA (Canadian style bacon, pepperoni, sausage, salami, onions, olives, bell peppers & mushrooms. Their special combo which has a whole lotta everything is delicious. Their salads are huge, their garden salad easily feeds two hungry people and is a great starter while your pizza pie awaits. Now for more good stuff.....THE BEER. I had a pint of their Sharkbite Red which was soooo refreshing. My husband had a pint of Night Rider Imperial Stout, dark and robust but a bit overwhelming for the pizza. Great Food, Excellent Beers = Good Times :)

This place is very cool the pizza is great, the salads are good, the atmosphere is fun, and there is lots of space to sit and have a great meal. I had a small pizza with chicken, mushrooms, bell peppers, and sun-dried tomatoes. it was freakin gooood. The only downside is Pizza port is a popular place to bring the little league team after the big game. So, if you are looking for a quiet place to bring a lunch date on the weekend, this probably isnt it. Other than that, its a good place to be!

I have read about this place for months. Finally stopped in for a beer and pizza last night. Good, good, good. Good - We sat upstairs on the tiny patio (more like a "deck") with a partial ocean view. The other "part" of the view was looking down on the beachgoers on El Camino Real. Not too shabby. I could get used to this. Good - The beer selection is first rate and changes daily. The brews made by Pizza Port have taken many prizes and there is no reason to venture too far away from the house options. Last night, the $3 pint of the day was Carlsbad Chronic. This is an excellent brown ale, with a good balance of hops, nutty malt and sweetness. I slipped down a few pints and left wanting another. Good - We had hot wings, some sort of flat bread and a large meat-filled pizza. The wings were ok. I like my wings small and fried cripsy. These were baked and soft, but the sauce was legit and I knew I was buying baked wings when I ordered them - can't blame Pizza Port for that. The pizza was above-average - good crust, piled with cheese and a bunch of toppings. Came out hot and fast and was put down in record time. Solid.

Great for the whole family. You can have a nice one of the micro brewed beers while the kids play the games. I don't love beer, but I love a good beer. They fit the bill - why even bother with anywhere else in San Clemente. The pizzas range from basic to gourmet, and their entree salads are so good you might have trouble choosing. This is also a good spot for the team party if your kids are in sports. I even went here for my birthday this year - it was one casual place that we could make everyone happy from age 11 to 73 without breaking the bank, and they don't care if we sing!

My wife and I love all the Pizza Port's, primarily for the different IPA's they brew but also for the great pizza (I think it's the sauce) and Caeser salad. We have been hitting the San Clemente location most recently because we moved up to Orange Cty from San Diego. We have three small children and have been going to Pizza Port since we were newly married and childless. Our kids love the place and with the fairly constant background noise and other families we feel that if one of our little ones has a blow up it pretty much run its course withour disturbing others.

The pizza is great (awesome crust, always generous with the cheese), they have a variety of good speciality pizzas (try the Cheeseburger Pizza), and best of all, they have some of the best microbrews in Orange County, and arguably the nation. The place is huge, perfect for a kid's birthday party (they have an arcade upstairs) or for a big adult party. And seriously, the beer is awesome. Head over to the bar, ask for a couple samples, and then pick your pitcher. So good.

I love Pizza Port! The pizza is sooooo good, I always order something else as well.....and end up really, really, really full. There is a parking lot, but its easier to just park on the street in back - next to the parking lot :)......Usually we order the Garlic Veggie, but for times when you don't particularly want to reek of garlic for two days, the Pizza Laguna and Pizza Carlsbad fill in. My only tip would be try not to add any toppings / make substitutions to the pizzas because it's not cheap...use that money for beer! OH YEAH the beer!!! I have never been disappointed - there are always plenty of choice and they have guest beers in addition to their house brews. I recently had the Low Tide pale ale (at least I think thats what it was called...) and loved it. The only downside to Pizza Port is living far away from one.

As a self-proclaimed beer snob, I must say that I really like Pizza Port's beers. They rotate pretty regularly, so no use listing favorites here, but they do a great job at making great beer! Growing up in SD County, I always went to the other locations.... This one in SC opened the same month we moved here, making us immediate, long-standing regulars of the (by far) best of the 3 locations. The pizzas are fabulous, I love the Garlic Veggie and the Pizza Carlsbad. The Pizza San Clemente has an interesting twist - beans and cheddar cheese, Mexican style, instead of red sauce and mozz. A good "compromise meal" when half the group wants Mexican food and half want pizza. Good music, friendly staff, lots of parking and an ocean view on sunny afternoons.

I was so disapointed by this establishment. Pizza is overpriced without a reason. At Papa John's pizza you get the same thing for half the price. The noise is awful, you can hardly hear the person from across the table from you. Seating is very uncomfortable, maybe they try to get read of the customers as soon as possible?? But most of all the ARROGANCE of the people working there! I will not be returning there.

Like the other reviews say this place should be called beer port. The flavor and smoothness is quite possibly the best beer from a local brewery I've every had. The pizza is good, nothing really caught my fancy besides the beer. The atmosphere is spacious great for large parties.

Great Beer - Great Pizza ( I know, I know everyone has different pizza taste - I happen to think theirs if right on ) especially the garlic veggie pizza. Favorite night is Tuesday ( $2 pints of a selected brew) Beer is brewed on premises and they have the awards to prove its great beer. The also have a cask ale on a hand drawn tap - had a pint of Chronic cask ale and it was superb. It's a "casual atmosphere" - I wouldn't use the "dive" word. Picnic benches for seating, but you get to meet the other diners. some outside seating and some bar seating as well. Go for the beer - Go for the Pizza - Just go

A solid pizza hang out in San Clemente. The pizza might be a bit overpriced, but the beer buddies and wings are decent deals. I'd say it costs about $10-12 per person to fill you up.

Should be called Beer-Port. The brews are awesome. The crust is on the thicker side, and the pizza to me is just very normal, good, not great. The atmosphere is crazy at times with picnic benches inside and out. VERY informal atmosphere, you pick your pizza up on the side counter after they yell your name, you get some paper plates and sit down. Service is slightly indifferent but overall a great place to get a decent pizza.

Now that I've experienced The Port, no other pizza will do. Most pizzas are named for South County / San Diego cities including the 'Laguna', a great vegetarian pizza with artichokes that even the kids enjoy. Variation in toppings extends all the way to a cheeseburger pizza (I have seen, but not had the guts to taste). With your typical post little league pizza joint set-up you'll find picnic bench type tables and a few booths upstairs. A major bonus for us is the arcade area that serves as a great distraction and allows my husband and I a few precious moments of kid free conversation. With two bars that you can place food orders at and a revolving cast of house brewed and 'guest' beers you can still expect a line to grab a drink on busy nights. Perfect for a casual place that you can pretty much show up in a wet bathing suit and cover up and feel comfortable to enjoy a bite and a sip. Very San Clemente :)

I'm loving this place. First time I went with my 3 year old daughter for a daddy and daughter night out. We had a blast. They had a couple of games that were appropriate for her, but mostly lots of violent, blood-bath video games. No worries though because the pizza is quite good especially for the price. Not much of a wait for the pie. Next trip was a family venture and we got some local brewed beer. Awesome. The Riper was flavorful and fresh, just how I like my pale ale. We tried the hot wings which were not hot and about average as far as wings go, but the pizza was great as usual. The music was hilariously bad, but not offensively bad. My only complaint is that the pizza does not reheat the next day very well, so eat it all while you are there. I guess that's not so bad after all.

We went on a Friday night and the place was crowded. Lots of obnoxious teens and loud kids. I guess it's cool though that kids can be kids here. The seating is bench style seating. The plates and utensils are paper and plastic. It's pretty much help yourself. Someone does come around and pick up trash and such, but it's not the cleanest place. The pizza was pretty good. I had a pineapple and Canadian bacon pizza on wheat crust. The garlic bread is tasty. It's a fun family place, but definitely don't expect to come here and be able to hear anything anyone is saying in your party. The people and music are loud. Maybe on a non-weekend it would be better. Overall the prices are good and the food is good so I would come back. Just a heads up, there is a small parking lot on the street behind the place on the roof. There is a handicapped spot up there, but not sure how they think someone in a wheelchair could get down. You have to walk down two flights of stairs to get to the main floor and back up the stairs to get to your car. We thought that was odd.

A fun place to hang with friends in a casual environment. Average what you expect from a small microbrew but nothing special. The pizza though is just average. I do like going there in groups after softball, but I would go to La Rocca's for the pizza.

Pizza Port is fantastic... Nothing hits the spot after a 60 mile bike ride quite like a Monterey Pizza, Beer Buddies and a pitcher of ice cold Honey Ale. Yes, I will eat and drink all of that by myself... I love that you can choose from a regular or beer grain crust. At 3 stories, this location is considerably larger than the Solana Beach store which makes it much easier to find seating.

First things first, Carlsbad Chronic is the BEST beer ever. Period. OK, that's out of the way. The pizza here is probably the best in south Orange County. I don't know what's in the sauce but it's superb. The toppings are super duper fresh and delish. On the last visit we got the Pizza Vallarta w/ Canadian bacon, jalapenos, olive and onions. YUM! The Beer Buddies appetizers are awesome too, really garlicy. Now on to the most important part of every visit, BEER! I love beer. I adore beer. I worship beer. This is a perfect place for me because the have beers brewed on site and a variety of guest beers as well. Alas, last Sunday Carlsbad Chronic was not to be had (insert sad face here). So I got Sharkbite Red, my usual second choice. Alcohol-y happiness in a pint glass! Also good is the Amigo, it's their version of Corona. You can get a taster of each beer for I think a buck a piece, one menu for the Port brews and one for the guest beers. I'd recommend doing that since there's such a variety here. The staff is really great (young and on the hippie side), especially manager Jeff. Someone always plays good stuff on the jukebox, I've heard everything from Nick Cave to Revolting Cocks to Love and Rockets here. So, yeah, go here and have a happy day of pizza and beer.

I guess I should advertise a LITTLE bit of Orange County loyalty and review Pizza Port's newer and more local branch in San Clemente, but allow me to state for the record that by far my FAVORITE PP is still in Carlsbad just about a 20 minute drive further south... That being said, San Clemente's PP offers everything that the brewery/pizzeria is so well known for -- great quality food, awesome selection of beer, and that casual beach-y atmosphere that people like to chill in around these parts. As far as food goes, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu; PP's ingredients are so fresh and they really do know how to proportion an excellent pizza. Even for crazy beer drinkers like myself and my friends, who are in general purists when it comes to PP outings, the pizzas really are irresistible. If you aren't really that hungry (and believe me the pizza is delicious and filling), I HIGHLY suggest one of their famous Portzels, which is made from their multi-grain pizza crust and has sun dried tomatoes baked into them. SO GOOD. My crew's overall consensus is that the best pizza out there is the veggie one on the multi-grain crust. But if you're more into the meat-style food items, then they have a pizza to fit your tastes as well. Their pizza sauce is perfectly complementary to the rest of the ingredients, and they don't overpower with cheese. Trust me, their pizzas taste fresh, well-made and carefully crafted... not unlike their fabulous beer selection. I usually opt for the more hoppy beer selections... i.e. Pizza Port's Hop 15 or Wipeout IPA. But they really do have taps to accommodate just about any beer drinker's taste, from light to malty to German style, and everything in between. They usually have all their own brews plus a handful of guest brews for you to enjoy as well. The only downside to this location is that it's three oddly-structured levels, and that you have to walk down two stories if you park in their tiny, tiny private lot upstairs. However, this is San Clemente, so basically you've got all the pretty skinny people kicking it here or around here anyway, so it's manageable for them. Because of this location's unique nature of being built up against a hill basically, it leaves the outdoor patios and dining areas somewhat smaller and less accommodating than the other two locations' areas... Also, as is a downside to all the PP locations, their beautiful big screen TVs never show any kind of football, basketball, baseball, collegiate sport, or anything that doesn't resemble pro surfing. So if you're planning to come here for a big sports weekend viewing, don't bother. But in general, Pizza Port offers a really high quality product at affordable prices. Plus, the San Clemente location is a lot newer, and thus seemingly "cleaner" in a way (although I don't think that's the word I'm looking for... just really "newer" I suppose), and it's only about a mile or so walk to the pier. Just sit out on the outdoor patio, enjoy your brew and grub, and watch all the pretty skinny people walking around.

Pizza port is the perfect place to test your kids immune systems. If you either like to smoke with your food, or enjoy watching little kids rub their snot covered hands all over the place, this is the place for you. The pizza is terrible, and you would be better off going to chucky cheese or the 7-11 and getting a frozen pie.

Amazing beer, pizza good enough to compliment said beer. I'm such a thin slice person it's hard to go near anything else; but this stuff is no too shabby (great topping selection). Cheap, friendly staff, and the customers are all having a good time whenever I go In.

the pizza is ok can put any toppings on it and will taste good but way too much crust it is so thick that it almost seems raw in the middle we always request well done idk if it ever gets cooked that way or not. wings are huge with lots of skin my hubby likes i prefer smaller leaner wings. oh and they r drumsticks and wing mixed beer is great cant complain there are games for kids upstairs

What a bummer of a place.I have been here several times hoping it would get better eventually.Great pizza and salads and wings. Now if their customer service could mirror the great food it would be worth going back. However I have had the same poor and somewhat rude experience every time. trying to get service in this place is ridiculous. You could stand around in what seems to be a line to place a order and then realize you have wasted 20 minutes and still not began your dining experience. It would be nice if there was some one actually concerned if you have been helped yet. It is a place that needs to take a course on CUSTOMER SERVICE... I would not recommend this place to anyone ..

Always accommodating wether I come in with 1 person or 11 other people. Great pizza. Fast service, and you can't beat great brews, good pizza and big buck hunting. I love stopping here with friends. I'd also recommend their wings and buddies!

I grew up going to this place with high school friends and sports teams after games, so maybe I like it in part for the nostalgia. Went back again this weekend and was pleased to see that no much has changed. :) It's still the same old dingy pizza joint that's a local hang-out. I was VERY happy with the gluten-free pizza! For being gluten-free, it was REALLY good! Mmm mmm mmm! The hard cider was pretty decent too. I just wish they had more gluten-free alcoholic selections. Overall, an excellent gluten-free meal at a pretty decent price! :) The pizza & craft brews are damn good! Four star review because the staff is in the okay to above average range, but not terrible to the point that it detracts from the food, drink & ambiance. Don't expect excellent customer service when the kids behind the register look like they're still in high school. Still, Pizza Port is a good place to grab a great bite!

I love Pizza Port in general, but living in San Diego, I've only been to the Carlsbad location, so while driving from Dana Point, headed back home from the beach, I was STOKED to find (via yelp) that there was a Pizza Port nearby! Parking can be a little difficult at this location, but nothing can steer me away from my pizza. This isn't my favorite location, but the pizza was delicious! We ordered the Carlsbad which has pesto, mesquite grilled chicken, sun dried tomatoes, and artichoke hearts... YUM! Its my all-time favorite, and the crust is always delicious. I wish I could give them 5 stars, but the friendliness of employees was less than impressive. While ordering pizza the employees were having conversations amongst themselves about "raging" later....unprofessional. And while ordering a pitcher of beer the bartender was in the middle of a conversation with someone who seemed like a local and frequent visitor. Now, thats fine that you are being social, but in my experience with customer service, its rude. Especially when the person in front of you (me) is trying to interrupt your conversation to ask questions. I'll be sticking to my Carlsbad location, cause that place takes the cake.

Great beer, nice and knowledgeable bartender. Got the baked chicken wings and realized about 2-3 wings in that some were severely under-cooked and still bleeding. Not the highest food quality standards and since this is an order and pick up yourself kind of place we didn't feel like going back up to the window to complain. Sadly this tarnished our experience and we don't think we'll be going back.

AWESOME place. First time here. Food was fantastic and service outstanding! Came w/a big group. Chicken wings were delicious - crispy and yummy flavor. Pizza selections were many. The pizza dough/crust was really something else. I was so surprised at how yummy it was. Also, I goofed an order and they replaced it expeditiously w/o a second thought. We were all so impressed. This place is added to the top of our list to visit again.

The restaurant had a great layout and lots of seating options for large or small parties. There was a brewery and bars on both levels. Tip: There aren't any servers, you put your order in at the kitchen and they call your name. The pizza was delicious, even the second day.

Awesome craft beer, Swami IPA is great. Got the lunch combo for $6 slice, salad, soda. Great food. Also bought a t shirt, was $18. Nice ocean view from second floor and plenty of tv's playing sports. Fun place, hopefully they open another location in Newport Beach or Irvine someday.

Unmatched quality for the price. Loaded 10" pizza for $8? Yup and its outstanding. Unmatched beer selection. They always have 2 dozen beers on tap Ive never heard of and all of them are good. Only location in the OC is San Clemente.

More like 3 1/2 stars the beers are what enticed us, so my husband and I stopped by late afternoon on a Sunday. Walked in from up top and was surprised at how much of a family place it is. Not that its a bad thing but man oh man there were so many screaming hyper children everywhere, something I wouldn't expect from a brewery. The whole function of the restaurant is a bit strange too, lots of running around. Order at the kitchen counter, find a table, they call your name when your orders ready, and order beers from the bar. We ordered a flight of 4 tasters....their cream ale, saison, porter, and stout. The darker beers were much better than the lighter ones. Liked their selection of guest beers too. For food ordered a half san clemente & a veggie garlic pizza. The veggie garlic one with feta was delicious! The san clemente sadly was a let down, missing something. We even ordered some Mmm bitchin' sauce that to both of us tasted like hummus. Would love to try their other pizzas and brews another time since there is much more to choose from.

This isn't my typical dining destination, but after tasting their pizza once, I CRAVE it! Now, the 45 minute drive to get there doesn't even seem all that bad. This place is very energetic with kids laughing and running around everywhere! All the tables are community style, so you'll probably make some new friends too! Every time we go, we always order a medium or large (yes! more leftovers!) and do half of one pizza and half of another. Our absolute favorite is the Pizza Carlsbad with pesto, grilled chicken, sweet sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and crumbled feta. MMMMM. Also, when you're feeling extra hungry, the Garlic Buddies (w. Mozarella) are a must have! These little guys are made from delicious, airy pizza dough that's brushed with olive oil, garlic, and spices and baked until golden brown. Oh, and don't forget to try one of their own beers! Very impressive!

Great pizza and awesome beer selection, but we went with our 5 month old at around 9 pm after a long adventurous day to enjoy some pizza and found that it is not too "family friendly" after daylight hours. Having to find your own space at the very limited seating wasn't great, and having to squeeze next to some random people with a huge carseat made it kind of awkward. It's a great bar and pizza joint it's just not that accomodating for families with babies or toddlers, after 8 pm anyways.

The kids wanted pizza, and of course we wouldn't mind a beer, so we took a chance on a place recommended by my husband's friend: Pizza Port. We knew nothing about the place except that it served gourmet pizza and had its own brewery. I thought it was a sit down restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it was an order at the counter, find your own seat type of place. It is a super cute place! The tables are picnic style, with the bar on one side and the picnic tables and counter on the other. There is also seating out on the patio and upstairs. Their list of beers is impressive, offering Pizza Port original brews and local favorites. We were delighted to see a lunch special that included a slice of pizza, salad and a drink. Plus you could upgrade to a beer! We were able to substitute a second slice for one of the salads which worked great for us! You had a choice of pepperoni, cheese or the special of the day. The day We went it was broccoli, chicken! That is, of course, what I chose. Yummy! And the salad that came with ithe meal was huge and incredibly fresh! This place is so awesome! I tried to talk everyone into going back the next night for dinner! It is the perfect place for a family meal, dinner and drinks with friends, drinks and late night snack with friends or just drinks. They have take out as well! I was a happy girl after my meal at Pizza Port. If you are in San Clemente, make a stop here, you will be very happy too!

It pains me to have to give one star just to post I just had my first and last pizza at Pizza Port in San Clemente. Actually, it was my first and last slice of pizza seeings how I could not bring myself to eat any more of the large pizza that I ordered. The pizza its self was standard issue pizza, but the conditions of this restaurant were so vile, I am gagging at the thought of it. First off, the filth on the floor alone was enough to make you not want to eat there. But, my boyfriend chose it so I went along with it. We sat down at one of their bench seating tables. The layer of grease, old grease, the kind that has dust stuck to it, on the table was so thick and sticky that trying to blow the days worth of crumbs and toppings off was futile. The grease held onto them like a dog with a prime rib bone. The amount of crumbs and debris that was ground into the wood grain on the table, tells me that these tables have never been sanitized. It appears that anyone and everyone who has ever sat at these tables, has carved their name into them. Upon ordering our pizza, my boyfriend asked for some extra sauce on the side. The girl behind the register stared right through him, apparently not understanding why he would ask for such a thing. After the lengthy wait for the pizza, we sat down to eat and realized that he did not get his extra side of sauce. So, he asked one of the many kids in the kitchen for his extra side of sauce, again he was looked at like he couldn't figure out why we would ask for extra sauce, he retreated to the kitchen and brought back a very small container with about two teaspoon of cold sauce paste smeared into it. Not quite the dipping sauce that my boyfriend was hoping for. Not one of the employees were bright enough to realize that he wanted extra sauce, heated sauce, to pour on his pizza. The gnats flying around the parmesan dispensers on the table were definitely a deterant for some parmesan. The pizza is served on big red plastic trays, and when you first pick up your piece, you cannot escape the smell of burning plastic. This couldn't possibly be healthy. I'm going to stop here, I dont want to allow this place to take up anymore of my time. Thoroughly Disgusted.

Generally, I'm not a big fan of this style of pizza but pizza port was great in their portions and cook. I love that you can split the pizza in half with their unique combination of toppings. I also loved the huge beer selection and that some are brewed in house. We had the honey-something beer and it was bomb! The pizza and beer deserve a 4-star review but the wings, which we were recommend by friends to try, were disappointing. They were average at best. Also, the crappy PA system made it difficult to hear your order; on top of the long, long wait. We nearly finished our pitcher of beer before our pizza was done. As for the atmosphere, I like the help yourself style, arcade games, and surfer dude vibe but I wish there was more parking available. Overall, great place to hang out and I will probably visit again soon!

Pizza Port is just awesome. My bf was working in San Clemente for business, and I came out for an extended visit. This was the first place he wanted to take me for lunch, to experience the culture of San Clemente and enjoy a beer and pizza. I was not disappointed. It's quaint in a way, with wooden trestle-style tables and some booths mixed in upstairs. There was a kid's party going on upstairs, so it's definitely a family-friendly brewery, which is nice. After we parked on the second level, and stood for a moment oohing and ahhing over the microbrew equipment from the balcony above, we headed downstairs for the rest of the first visit. We've been back many times to sit at the tables and enjoy pizza, or at the bar or on the patio (beware: smokers) outside, enjoying great beer. My personal favorite was recommended by the bartender: faceplant. I like a strong beer, and this is a strong beer. But I hate a hoppy beer, and that, it is not. We were often offered little samples, too, as we tried to deviate from our favorites. There is another one, irish something, that I can't remember the exact name of, but which was also tasty. Speaking of tasty, did you want to hear about the food? Omg, the Pizza Carlsbad. I have tried to recreate it many times on our pizza stone at home, with hand-rolled dough (from Publix, I didn't make it from scratch, I'm not Barefoot Contessa over here). Alas, all of my efforts have not added up to how good this pizza was every time we got it from Pizza Port San Clemente. Pesto, mesquite grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, & feta, plus we added bacon, because 'Merica, amiright? We tried salads, appetizers, and a few other pizzas - the BBQ one was also great - but this pizza sealed the deal for me, and the micro brewey gave it a great atmosphere that kept us coming back.

I'm a big pizza port fan, but this is not my favorite location. Went in on a warm sunny summer day and the place was packed with kids and adults. It was a Tuesday so they had a special $3 pint night. Pale ale was the special and it was solid. The hops in this one were a little off, but $3 so I'll keep it down. When I ordered a pizza, the "Roma," a regular cobo with veggies and meats was $17 for the medium. I though it used to be in the $14 range, but inflation means your $14 won't get you what it used to. 8 slices of heavily topped pie with big crust means two meals for me so I should shut up and order a small next time. The pizza wasn't sliced very well so you had to tear it a part. Come on, now. I had an ipa too, El Camino real perhaps. Was good. $5. = 2 beers $8 and I'm a happy cheap good beer critic. A logo glass for $3 will be a good add to the collection. Friendly San Clemente service all around. Parking on the roof. All good.

I can honestly say that is place serves some of the best pizza I have ever tasted in my life. Freaking.......awesome (mmmmuuuuaaaaahhhh!!!!!!) excellent. The reason why I only gave 2 stars is because of the service. I ordered a San Franciscan Pizza and I witnessed a customer who ordered the pizza after my party take it. The person calling out the order and name did not verify the customer's name. "San Franciscan Pizza for Anthony?!?!"-Pizza Port employee "Is this the San Franciscan?-Random Pizza Port customer "Yes it is."-Pizza Port employee "Cool!"-Random Pizza Port customer takes pizza with him Not shortly after this exchange I show up and inform the girl that she gave the pizza to the wrong person. She didn't apologize and said that the other one (which should have been the other guy that took my pizza) will be coming out shortly. No apology no nothing. I thought that was pretty lame. So in conclusion, this place has some bad ass pizza, but watch the employee's calls carefully and get ready to put a random customer in a standing guillotine choke to get your San Franciscan Pizza on a timely basis. Thank you (**drops the mic like Chris Rock and walks away).

This is a staple of San Clemente. Take it for what it's worth, but know it's a pizza joint that serves awesome beer it's loud and fun. There are going to be kids, salty dudes that have spent the whole day in the line up and people getting off work enjoying a few beers with friends. Most one star reviews are about the culture and not the food... If you are pretentious and want a high brow experience, stay away. BUT, if you want great food and beer with a healthy dose of beach culture, this may become your next favorite spot.

  • Matt Q.

Easily the best pizzeria around, they always have an amazing selection of house and guest beers and they are all by the beach. I personally recommend the Carlsbad: pesto, mesquite chicken, feta, sundried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. Combine with beer of your choice to compliment the temp outside.

Pizza Port has delicious pizza! The craft beer selection is amazing! Ryan, the manager, is extremely knowledgable. He made a GREAT recommendation on the Monterey pizza paired with the honey blonde beer. Pizza Port is a family friendly environment - there a kids everywhere which makes it an inclusive family restaurant. Check it out ...

The pizza and location are great but there in house brews are hit and miss. Sometimes they taste different especially the California honey. I've even taken back a growler because it tasted like coors light or something.

Best pizza in SC! Really good beer, awesome options for pizza - just the best!

  • Ann M.

I came here to grab some beers with a friend and I was impressed by their unusual (as in not frequently found) selection of beers. Also, the bartender was very helpful in recommending beers that suited our particular tastes and even let us try some samples before ordering. I'd definitely go back if I'm in San Clemente again....hopefully next time I'll get to try some pizza, too.

Awesome selection of micro brews, my favorite is Dusk till Dawn(coffee stout). Wings here are so delicious that I don't mind driving here all the way from Costa Mesa :-) If you like good beer and food you will like this place.

  • James J.

Pizza was gross. Toppings were uncooked and dough was undone. From my experience, the cheese is supposed to go at the bottom after the marinara sauce and before the toppings otherwise none of the ingredients get cooked! C'mon guys I thought they taught that in pizza making 101?

    (2)
  • Amber A.

The food here is absolutely repulsive I ordered a Caesar salad and wings the salad was generic with all iceberg lettuce and I asked for the wings well done they came out and I bit into one and it was so rubbery and chewy I had to immediately spit it out the beer selection is good and that's about it but don't expect to have a conversation with the dud behind the bar

  • Pete R.

The beer and pizza are as good as all the reviews say. What makes this place is that its so kid friendly and even better, its kids sports team friendly. So parents this is the place to bring em after a day at the beach or after the big game.

Like many others I have been to the other locations as well and this one is just as good. If you are looking for a bite to eat in a laid back place right off the freeway then stop in... Good people and good food.

I grabbed a small pizza on my way home from the rainbow factory!!! Meat tastic pizza, the only issue is that with a small the slices are a weird shape. This place has delicious pizza. At a corner on my way to the freeway there was. Homeless guy with a " I'm hungry" sign... All I could think is "you better eat this" as I hand him my pizza box!!! This pizza is better than cash and I hope hungry man agrees.

Great beer, average food but if you have a family or a group It is a good place to go. If you are a beer fan or even a beer snob you will be highly satisfied with the selection. If you have kids be prepared to get tokens for the video games.

A great little place! We didn't eat in but picked up pizzas and tried a brew that we ended up taking home in a growler. It was a Tuesday night so parking was okay. We parked on the top of the restaurant. The bar up top was okay but small. The pizzas were ready just 20 minutes after we called them in. We picked them up downstairs and headed to the downstairs bar area. The brew selection was impressive! We tried the oatmeal stout which was phenomenal so we got that to go. $20 for the growler and fill. Once we got home we dug into the pizzas which were phenomenal also. The Solana seafood pizza was just perfect. We also got the San Clemente black bean pizza and it was good but certainly paled in comparison to the Solana. We ordered the whole wheat beer crust on both and I highly recommend. Overall a great little place. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely stop in to eat and grab some more great brew!

Remember how excited you were as kids for the pizza at Chuck E Cheese? This place is the same thing for adults, only our playground is the beer. Don't let the mellow vibe of the inside pictures fool you, I came on a Friday night and it was a madhouse. To be expected, but I didn't realize you were on your own for seating. There was not an open spot in sight on both floors. Things could easily get heated in that environment. Luckily we snagged something. You order your beer and pizza at the counter and wait for your name to be called. No one tends to you except to clean up the table after you. Had the BBQ chicken pizza and the Pesto Pizza (forgot the actual creative titles for them). I liked both but it seems like the BBQ pizza was a bigger hit. A medium can feed 4 people with 3 slices each. Also had a port salad, and for a pizza joint it was impressive. Asparagus, squash, Gorgonzola, portobello mushroom, roasted red peppers with balsamic. A creative option than the normal caesar and house salads which they have too. Super loud and lively atmosphere, lots of families with kids. Bench style seating. High energy but really quality pizza, not gourmet by any means though.

I used to live in San Clemente, and pizza port was my go to pizza place. Their pizza is amazing! And they always have a great selection of beers on tap. If you find a favorite, you can even buy a growler and fill it to take home. I'll be making a trip down to SC soon hopefully to get my pizza port fix

I came here for dinner on a day trip and was extremely pleased. Pizza is one of my favorite foods and I was not disappointed by theirs! I also tried their mac n cheese balls which were also very good. Prices on beers are also reasonable and they have a good selection. The vibe of the place is also very down to earth. I went here on a date night but I also saw families and youth sports teams hanging around for dinner. It's a good spot for all ages and even has an arcade upstairs. I was extremely pleased to come across this gem during my stay in San Clemente.

We stumbled upon this place while on vacation and I am certainly glad we did! The house brews are fantastic and we enjoyed the Pizza San Fransisco and Mac and Cheese bites. My only complaint is that we live too far away to frequent this place. If you're in the area, Pizza Port is a must!

  • Temenah C.

This place definitely gets an "A" in my book. The pizza is amazing. Super cheesy and the crust has this kinda sweetness to it and is very fluffy. It's not like some places where you have to eat the crust first because it's hard as a rock by the time you get to it. Although they have outsider beers, I recommend trying their own beers. I personally enjoyed the T St. Wheat, which is their version of a Hef. I'd definitely go back, but probably get it to go. You can tell this is a kind of a family establishment aka "there's so many damn kids runnin around the place"

    (5)

Fantastic beers as usual. Never been much of a PP pizza fan though. This place was overrun by children that had just finished soccer and was a little nuts. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

I've been here twice. Once a million years ago, and once last weekend. I stuck to beer because I'm not a fan of Pizza Port's pizza. It's not the best. But, if you're looking for excellent craft beer, this is your place. There are always lots of different styles of beer available, and the price is right with most pints being $4.50-$5. There were a bunch of soccer kids partying here, so I guess it is a good spot to bring the fam, if you're into that sort of thing.

Skip any other thoughts about going somewhere else, come to Pizza Port. Every time my friends visit from out of state this is my go-to for dinner. Such a laid back environment, not to mention I have not once had bad customer service here. Being completely honest the pizza here is amazing, the salads are equally all the rave, the beer is the icing on the cake, you have options to say the least. I 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone stopping through.

The best selection of craft beers on draft in San Clemente / Dana Point and great pizza as well. We're lucky to have one of this San Diego institutions satellite locations and its in an awesome building in San Clemente. I'm lucky that it's across from my office!

Not sure how this is a 4+ star??? The staff oversold the restaurant by 20 people, completely forgetting there was a reservation of 30 people (that showed up 30 minutes late) There were 5 parties of people circling around looking for an opening holding their pizza. One couple sat along the wall and placed their pizza platter on a baby highchair. We had to bus our own disgusting table. Our neighbor sat down with a drink for a few minutes then left for the bathroom. With our backs turned another party took over his table as he returned. Classy joint... Pizza was slightly better than delivery, partly burnt. Place was a mess and an overly slow bar.

Okay, now I have a kid. Like I said, I knew I would give it 5 stars once I had a baby. Probably the coolest place you can go to that is kid friendly. Beer and pizza are both fantastic and there are game rooms. And the location is gorgeous, ocean views.

I had the worst experience at Pizza Port yesterday afternoon. I stopped in after driving for hours and went to the second floor bar. My friend ordered a drink and I took my time looking at the menu. When I asked to try a beer, the bar tender told me he couldn't serve me. When I asked why, thinking it was a joke, he said I was stumbling. I had drank nothing that day and have no idea why he would think that. Maybe he thought I was somebody else? I have no idea, but to say the least, I felt disrespected and I will always inform everyone I know not to spend money at a place that is willing to employ a bar tender that abuses his positional power.

Stop everything and go to pizza port! Do you like delicious pizza and even more delicious beer? Would you like a view of the ocean to go with that? How about a side of free parking and friendly service? Look no further! I've been here a few times now and expect to go back many many more.

Pizza Port has incredible pizza and a diverse beer selection. It's a fun environment for the family and a great casual spot to meet another couple for a double date. Pizza Port offers a special Wednesday wing night. It's a good deal. The Kale salad is a healthy option for vegeterians.

Delicious food. Love their pizza, my husband is a big fan of the Mac and cheese balls. Even the garden salad is extremely fresh with in season ingredients. Only downside is on Saturday nights it can take a longggg time. Our last time trying on a Saturday night we were told it would take a hour and a half for a large pizza. Unfortunately, we ended up deciding we didn't have the patience to wait that long. Otherwise, customer service is good and pizza to die for:)

I came here after camping with some friends at the San Mateo campgrounds. Parking is a little bit of a battle, with limited space above the restaurant ( you get there from behind the restaurant ) and street parking. Once you get inside, its very spacious. There are arcade games and an overall enjoyable atmosphere. The pizza was delicious. Crust was nice and golden. Sauce and toppings were fresh and full of flavor. Everyone agreed that it was perfect after a nice day at the beach. It honestly is pretty high on my list of recommended pizza places. Definitely check it out!

Visited twice on this visit to San Clemente. Nice beer selection of beers they make and stuff you have never heard of... Pizza is ok, lots of drunk adults letting their children run wild. But an ok local pizza joint.

    (3)
  • Dora K.

The pizza is great, the atmosphere very very low key, shorts, t-shirt, flip flops kind of place for family, surfers, long picnic table seating, you buy pizza at one counter and beer at another ...kind of weird.

Great pizza place in San Clemente. Centrally located with a huge beer selection and tasty pizza. They have a small outdoor area and large indoor area for seating. Atmosphere is very laid back and friendly.

Stopped by on our way back down to San Diego. Never been to a Pizza Port before, and was glad we tried it. Pizza was delicious; crust, toppings, sauces, everything all tasty. I tried the San Clemente Pizza and my wife created her own with Artichoke, feta, and olive oil. Also had to try a flight of their house beers. I tried the Chronic Amber Ale, Swammi's IPA, Faceplant IPA, and Red Rebel Imperial Red. All pretty tasty. It was the first Monday night football game and the chargers were playing so it was loud and busy, patio and bar was packed but inside was manageable. All around good tasting food and beer, wish we could have tried more of the food cuz there was plenty of items that looked good on their menu.

  • Artem S.

Great food ! Cool atmosphere ! There are video games and arcades on the second floor to keep the kids occupied while parents are slamming down brews :)... MANAGEMENT: A bit hot on the second floor... Last few times we visited, we sat on the second floor and I was sweating while drinking cold beers... Please, crack a few more windows open or setup a fan on the second floor !

I came here on a sunny weekend with my SO. I had heard of the beer and wanted to experience it for myself. The parking was a bit tricky, but we were soon inside. San Clemente is well known for it's tricky parking, yet great food. I am a fan of the city, and you can see a lot of it from the great view this place has on two levels. Crowded and buzzing with people, it was a feast for the senses. Delicious aromas wafting everywhere and the lively patrons smiling with glee. It warmed me to see everyone enjoying themselves. We worked our way down to the first floor and lined up at the register. The line went very quickly and we were greeted and informed in a timely fashion. We received our number after we ordered, and I figured we would sit at the bar to observe the beverage selection. I love beer by the way. At the bar with a view of the brewing kettles, we were greeted by the bartender and informed Red Leader was his favorite. So I opted for a flight that included the bartenders suggestion. I was not disappointed. All of the beers were wonderful. Our food was brought out and the sauce really sealed the deal. Great pizza, and great beer! I went to my local bevmo and picked up some of their canned Swami after that visit.

Good beer, and good food. Only issue I had was one of seating. We went on a Friday night and the place was crowded and it was hard to find a place to sit.

  • Jaclyn R.

My all time favorite pizza place in Orange County. I love coming here for their pizza and wings. The best part are their handcrafted brews. They're different every time I come here, then again maybe that's due to the time intervals. Would recommend to everyone!

    (5)
  • Eric T.

The pizza here is really fresh and the staff behind the counter is always friendly. I have been coming here for years and I can say that the layout and cleanliness at this location beats the chaotic set up at their Carlsbad location. Don't hesitate to stop in when you are in the area! The IPAs are the best no matter which one you choose.

Here's my advice: Get takeout. And while you're waiting for your order, get a beer at the bar. This place is nuts. A weird kind of nuts. It's like a mix of Chuck E. Cheese and a bro bar. I don't get it. There were tons of families (and small children seemingly on uppers), along with lots of drunk guys. We came on a Friday night. There was nowhere for us to sit, unless we wanted to share a table with one of the aforementioned tables. We quickly decided to just place our order to go. While waiting, we did hang out by the bar area, which was much less obnoxious. The beers are good, too. I recommend the Doheny Double IPA. I'm not quite sure how long it took for them to get our order ready because we could not hear them calling names. After a while, we checked and, sure enough, our boxes were waiting there for us. Thankfully, the pizza wasn't cold by the time we got home. As for the pizza, it's delicious. The garlic veggie is AWESOME. That's the reason I may be back...for my takeout order.

I used to live walking distance from the Pizza Port in Carlsbad so it was about damn time I came into the San Clemente location now that I'm back in Orange County. Very similar vibe as the Carlsbad location, but much bigger. There is patio seating downstairs, but not a lot...inside there are long family-style tables like picnic benches, so be ready to get cozy with strangers! You order downstairs and there is a bar to your left, upstairs there is another bar and more family-style seating. We got there around 6:30 on Friday and it was packed! Very happening place with a very beach casual vibe, tons of young people and young families celebrating Friday. There was a short line to order, but not bad at all. I got the small gluten-free (it only comes in small) with pepperoni and pineapple and my friend got a small thin crust veggie. Our total came out to about $25,00, but that's because they charge $3.00 extra for gluten-free crust which is insane in my opinion...the redeeming factor, however was that my small gluten-free was bigger than my friend's small thin crust which is almost never the case with gluten-free...and also the crust was amazing. Still, $3.00 extra is pushing it. They could stand to have a little heavier hand with the toppings also. We snagged a couple seats and they called our name probably 15 minutes later (maybe less). Overall, great time and we both decided we will be back. They have tons of interesting beers there (not sure about cocktails) and the pizza is great.

    (4)
  • Ryan A.

Epic Pizza. Bummed they changed the gluten free dough! The old stuff was way better. Last time I was in a young blonde kid with shaggy hair took my order and I felt really bad for him as his nose and eye were punched out and oozing. Not exactly what you want to stare at before diving into a pie. Excellent beer and excellent staff. They know their beers and definitely try the kale salad.

    (4)
  • William O.

The beer tasted really good and they have a great selection to choose from. The specialty pizza was just ok,but the regular pepperoni pizza was really hit the spot. Place was super packed so service was a little slow but to be expected

I came to this pizza port location on my way down to San Diego. We were quite hungry and couldn't wait to eat so we decided to stop at this San Clemente location. I've been to the Carlsbad location and absolutely loved it. We ordered the large Meet Extreme Meat to share between 3 girls and a small Cesar salad. The cashier recommended that we added bacon to our pizza, and boy was it tasty!! They add the bacon after they make the (already meaty) pizza and the bacon has the crisp that is to die for. The pizza was layered in pepperoni, Canadian bacon, and sausage, with of course a topping of the crispy bacon. The Cesar salad was typical, I guess it was to make me feel slightly better for ordering such a meaty pizza. The location was very tight and cramped. There were children screaming everywhere. It was annoying telling everyone 'excuse me' it 'sorry' when passing through. I liked the Carlsbad location a little more because the layout had more flow.

Pizza port is always a good time! I'm partial to a few of the people that work here since I'm friends with them, but everyone that works here is really nice. They have excellent pizza and a huge beer selection, some of which are made by them! It's awesome!

    (5)
  • Dean D.

What a fantastic spot. Great beer and amazing pizza! They brew their own beer and have lots of other beers on draft! We ordered the San Francisco pizza with a salad, wings and cheese sticks. Mega bamb. They have a great view of beach while eating. And they have a great arcade as well. Upstairs they have tvs for all the hardcore football vans. It's also a great place to bring the kids.

  • Patrick A.

We had about 3 hours to kill between soccer games on a Sunday and it worked out well. Pizza was OK. There was a limited beer selection when we were here but were able to find 1 or 2 that everyone liked. Easy parking on the roof; big, long tables that are good for kid's teams, slight ocean view. Not too busy early on Sunday but it got a little busier as we were leaving. The TVs are really old and small and I'm not even sure that they had the NFL package - I wouldn't go here to watch football with friends but it's perfect for eating pizza and having some fun with the kids.

Living in San Clemente for over 10 years I regret not going here before. Great arcade games and freshly brewed beer. It can't get any better than this! We recommend 2 pizzas that are great overall, the Roma Pizza and the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Tasting the first slice you can definitely tell it was made fresh!

  • Desiree W.

The only reason why I selected 4 stars is because the seating here isn't that great, it's kind of hard to find a table open up, but that should also tell you that there is great food served here since they are so busy, so well worth walking around for a few minutes to find a table. We ordered buffalo chicken wings, pizza Monterey and a pepperoni pizza, all were AMAZING!!! We will definitely be visiting this place more often!

Here is my review of Pizza Port on food, in this review I am going off environment. yelp.com/biz/pizza-port-… So I have been wanting to come to the San Clemente Pizza Port for a while and I finally made it. Now if you have been to the Solana Beach location you now how packed that little place can get. But here they have a AMAZING location with plenty of room A nice two story building with outdoor seating and a ocean view while you sip on there tasty beer. What more could you ask for? This place is fantastic, more room than you can ask for and seems like there is always a table or a spot open. Love that each location differs from the Port Beers that are served. Catch me at Port with a brew in hand and playing the Pirates of the Caribbean pinball machine or that Excitebike arcade they have (children of the 80's rejoice) CHEERS!!

If you can find parking, then enjoy some of the finest craft beer and pizza in the area! Love their coffee porter "Dusk til Dawn". Combine great beer and pizza and the suddenly the long wait is worth it. It gets very busy so come at the right time and enjoy yourself.

We made a drive out to san clemente just to eat here! It's where we stop to grab a bite to eat on our way to san diego usually. We got an order of the spicy baked chicken wings. It comes with ranch, carrots and celery sticks. Each wing had a lot of chicken on it and they weren't too spicy. delicious ! My friend and I shared a medium BBQ chicken pizza ! The BBQ chicken pizza has BBQ sauce, mesquite grilled chicken, mozzarella cheese, and red onions topped with fresh cilantro. They even have a whole grain beer crust which you can choose from ! The medium pizza came with eight slices that my friend and I ended up finishing up the whole pizza together since it was that good. The ambiance is fun too. They have televisions everywhere so it's a great place to come and watch football/basketball games at. This pizza port location even has an upstairs. There is seating available as well as games. It's totally worth the drive all the way out here. If i ever want to indulge in some pizza--i'll be coming back here for sure.

Who doesn't like Pizza port? I finally get to try their pizza and beer couple weeks ago, and I really enjoyed it! Parking for this location is a bit tough though, but this location is also bigger than the one in Solana beach. This one has two levels, and plenty of TVs for you to watch even while you are going to pick up another beer at the bar, or pick up your pizza from downstairs. Seating is first come, first serve, although we were here on a crowded Friday evening, we managed to find seats! a cool place, indeed!

This is one of the older locations...hence dirtier than the one located in Carlsbad. However, the food and beer here are just as good (except they didn't have as many guest taps). I believe this location is much less crowded so if you want a no thrills place to grab some good booze and pizza, this is your spot. Also, it's a couple blocks away from the San Clemente beach so if you're a little too hammered to drive, run on over to the beach and heckle the sea gulls. For you fact freaks, did you know Pizza Port owns 50% of Lost Abbey...hence is why you find Port Brewing at the Lost Abbey tasting room =) . 4 stars!

Loved the Pizza, Loved the Wings, Loved the crafty beers on tap! We got the large half meat lovers and half roma. Both were oozing with cheese and toppings. The thing that I really liked about the pizza was that the crust was thin on the bottom so you get a lot of toppings with each bite and it's not all dough. I'm also going to have to say that the chicken wings here are just as good, if not better, than the pizza. They are nice and meaty and juicy and the sauce gives it a nice kick of flavor without being over powering. You can get it baked once or double baked, we tried both because one order was not enough and I prefer just single baked, the double seemed to dry it out a little more. Suffice it to say I am a fan and am already plotting on when I will be coming back again.

Let me start by writing that their pizza tastes like an old tire a dog shit on. Terrible. Best part of their food options is being close to La Roccos (who's pizza is edible). I'd probably rather eat their napkins than their pizza. Seriously. Bad...but their beer is good. And "good" beer trumps "good" anything besides beer. So fuck it, eat there. When you throw up the disgusting food later, at least you'll have the sweet taste of Pseudo IPA on your palate for a second time.

I came here as an out-of-towner strictly for the pizza. I was very disappointed. I ordered a medium pepperoni with onion and extra cheese. The pizza was cooked perfectly and hot when I picked it up. It was just totally flavorless. Every bite tasted like sweeter-than-average pizza sauce loaded with too much oregano. The cheese, pepperoni, onion - no flavor. Because the cheese is placed over the toppings, I pulled some off several times just to verify the pepperoni and onion were actually there. That's how bland it was. I paid $17.50 for the pizza and ate only half - and only because I felt like it was huge waste not to.

I've been to Pizza Port 3 times and thoroughly loved each visit. Their pizza is really good. Their space is a bit confusing (3 stories) but I really like the beachy vibe. And their beer is also really good. Also they had Star Wars week and Star Wars beers and that is pretty much the coolest thing ever.

For West Coast pizzas, the best option I've had. (Yes, snooty NYC pizza lover here!) The craft beers are great -- so many to choose from! The vibe is good and comfortable and prices are decent. I met up with a friend for lunch on a weekday and we were able to stay for 3 hours and were completely welcome to stay as long as we wanted.

This place was recommended to me by several co workers who said we HAD to check it out on our way to San Diego. It's about the half way point so the boyfriend and I decided to stop. A little background I'm from just outside buffalo New York in a city called Rochester. Let me tell you, I am a wing SNOB! Pizza SNOB! This is the best pizza I've had since I moved to the west coast. Good crust, good sauce, good cheese. It was amazing. The wings were massive. I haven't seen wings like this since I left home a few years back. This place is on point!!! I'm only giving it 4 stars because Hey ya gotta me perfect to get 5.

Went to pizza port for the first time tonight and I will definitely be going back! We parked right across the street down the hill and walked up. The line went quick and we ordered 2 individual pizzas and BBQ wings to go. We walked to the bar and my boyfriend ordered 2 beers and got a growler to take back home with us. I ordered the pizza lahania and he got the meat extreme. The pizza was so good and the individual size is enough for 2 meals! The wings were really good too. My only complaint was the wait for the food- 45 minutes- not too bad for a Friday night at 6:30 I guess? Nonetheless we will be back here for sure!

The food is good IF you can get service. I tried to call 5 times on a Friday evening. Each call ended with either no answer or someone answering only to hang up. If the establishment can not plan their staffing to cover phone orders then they should invest in technology to allow online order placement. Very disappointed.

We were in San Clemente a couple months ago and this placed looked amazing, though we chose a different place down the road. I was passing back through today and HAD to try this place. My only disappointment was we didn't stop here a couple months ago. Pizza was great, not greasy, not too sparse on the topping and the staff was very cool. Lots of beer choices if that's your thing, great energy. For all you Marine Parents going to MCT/SOI graduation THIS IS THE PLACE TO EAT !! OOORAH !!

One of my favorite places, we come regularly. Great beers, good pizza, beachy vibe. Service can be hit or miss, and prices are a bit high, but still worth it every time.

We have gone twice now. It's a neat and fun atmosphere, pizza is relatively good. The root beer floats are amazing! It is on the loud side and gets really warm. My only complaint is the first time we went there were kids running and screaming upstairs and the parents could careless, and none of the workers said anything. But it should have been handled by the lazy parents. Good food though!

First time here...ordered my usual pizza I get from other places. Veggie pizza with pepperoni was good and tasteful. Would recommend this place...worth the drive.

Try their salads, the gf pizza is actually good, but their pizzas are all really good. I like this place. Tasty and cheap, great family place, but also great to hang with friends. Kids love the games where you win prizes with the tokens.

Best pizza in town. Best beer selection in town. Keep your eyes out in February for Pliny the Younger here. Awesome Lunch special. $4.99 gets you large slice of pizza and a huge salad, $1+ gets you a beer instead of soda. Great in-house beers. Middle Man IPA always great. Their Root Beer is made in house and is also VERY good. They also do Stout floats. Watch out for Friday and Saturday nights. TONS of families and after sports crowd. Tried to do birthdays on those nights and it's just really difficult to lock down seating. Garlic Veggie pizza is very very good.

Love Pizza Port I buy Chronic in cans even at $9.99-Its worth it Only thing I don't like (their pizza is decent)is parking. San Clemente is the best out of all of them(have not been to Bressi which seems to be better parking)because its right off freeway and parking is not a hassle. I never go to OB or Solana Beach locations because of parking. Carlsbad is not real bad but half the time you have to park across the street

Great local beers, but aloof staff. Super clicky imho. The kale salad is weak, pizza is pretty god but it's worth it for the good beer and plenty of seeting .

The best pizza and good beer! Seating and parking are hard to come by during busy hours & when sports games are on.

This place is awesome. 20 beers on tap. Came here for my birthday and this place doesn't disappoint. The beers are a bit on the salty side tho (due to the pizza they put in it when they brew it), but aside from that an awesome place to chill. The pizza is pretty good & I enjoyed the sauce they use. You are walking distance to the beach too.

Great pizza. I got the Canadian bacon pizza. My wife had a house salad and was full so didn't have pizza. She missed out. Crat beer I had the Doheney Double IPA. Fantastic IPA. Modest pricing.

Awesome atmosphere, good food and solid beers. This is heaven on earth for families that want to bring their kiddos and just chill out. We started off with Mozzerella sticks and the baked chicken wings....all of it was delicious. The Wings were the best though! I loved the pizza, we had a vegetable pizza along with a meat lovers pie... We will be back for more!

Pizza is fantastic. I have never been disappointed here! If there is a line it is well worth the wait. Pizza is always loaded with toppings and fresh.

Two words: Super salty. The Carlsbad pizza was super salty. The bread was good. The pizza was nice and thin in the middle but I wish it was a little bit more even to distribute the sauce/cheese to bread ratio. The meat pizza was even saltier. I only had one slice of pizza and was super bloated the next day. The Port salad was good though.

Best pizza and beer in town. The lunch special is one of the premier deals in town. World class beers and a great view.

A few of my friends told me to hit up pizza port when I am in Carlsbad. Unfortunately this last visit to Carlsbad I didn't get the chance, but noticed they have one in San Clemente. So we hit up the San Clemente location. The reputation and all the reviews I read were right on!!! The pizzas were really good and have their own unique style to it. Instead of putting the toppings on top of the cheese they put the cheese on top of the toppings. Not only that, but i like how the pizzas werent overly greasy. We also placed an order for chicken wings which were really tasty and had a buttery taste to it. Pros: Great tasting pizza with their own unique style to it, and not too greasy. Great beers on tap. They have great lunch special. Dont quote me on this but I think it was pizza, salad and a beer for $7. Really laid back atmosphere, there are a lot of picnic type style of benches. Cons: Not really a con, but there is no table service. You basically place your order at the bar or counter and they will call your name. Overall: I will definately be coming back here, and highly recommend this place. The pizzas and beers are top notch and reasonable priced. I really want to try out the Carlsbad location next time I go to Carlsbad.

I will keep it pretty simple on this review. Pizza Port has great pizza and awesome beers. I have been to their other locations and they are all top notch. Living in the south bay this is the closest location to me so I visit it the most. I like that it is multi-level with great ocean views from upstairs. Everyone that works here is chill and professional at the same time. I really enjoy the beer buddies to share with friends before our meal comes. Their beers are brewed onsite so they are super fresh and you can even get growler fills of their beers only to bring home. Next time you are in the area (or need a pit stop on the way to SD from LA) stop here you wont regret it.

I was here a weeks ago for a few of my Marines going away. I heard a lot of good things about it and decided to have it there. Had two different pizzas; BBQ chicken and their version of a meat lovers. The BBQ chicken was pretty good, I was impressed with the flavour. The meat lover which I was waiting to have was a small bit of a disappointment. As sson as I took the first bite the cheese was attached and it all came off the slice. The wing are awesome! Big portion wings and the hot sauce is on point. Had one cheese stick which was good as well.
